hey i'm 2 weeks away from harvest and have been pulling the top fan leaves from my plants so that the light will penetrate the lower buds better. is it too late in flowering to be pulling leaves or is this recomended? thanks for any and all advice.

Thats a bad idea my friend, the fan leaves are the ones that absorb most of the light. so ur basically hurting the plant and the amount of energy it can get from your lights because the leaves arent there.

thanks for the info. i talked to my friend earlier and he told me the same thing. he told me that the fan leaves are like solar panels for the plant.

If you are that close to harvest (2 weeks) your not really doin any damage.Won't hurt your plant. At the most your gonna get what you wanted.....more light to the bottom of the plant.

Next time, just chop off the top when it's ready, bring the plant closer to the light, and finish budding.

when the time comes jus cut of the top part which is ripe then leave the bottem 1/2 a lil longer to finish

Are those litter box's??????

What size light you got?
they're 18 gallon bins i picked up at home depot because they were $1 cheaper than the 3 gallon home depot buckets. i'm using 1 1000w hps.

i read about this technique but it seems like my bottom tier nugs are maturing fastrer than my top colas. my friend told me this is due to the lack of light in the canopy causing the shadier nugs to mature quicker.

Look good to me,damn nice grow for rescueing someone elses mistake.Good choice on the soil, btw
thanks luv growin. when i received them from my friend they were sitting in their original rockwool cubes saturated in water with the root system exposed through the bottom and sides. my friend had them sitting in the corner because he didn't have enough space under the light for them. i was hesitant to pick them up at first because i thought i'd be wasting my time with them but they pulled through and i'm happy with the results now.:weed:

hey, bay area! farms in berkeley? lol
the plant will shed the fan leaves if it no longer needs them, close to harv you may see them start to yellow out, buds using all the nutes.
