Im basically winging it and learning as i go. I dont want to be a bother to the people who have been growing for years and dont have time to answer the new guys stupid questions. I honestly need some advice/help with my grow. My 2 plants are 5 weeks and 8 weeks old. Im using a pre bought kit that was meant for autoflowering seeds. It features perlite/coco mycorrhizae powder and diatomaceous earth. They are both in 1-2 gallon pots. Im using a 45 watt full spectrum L.E.D about 40 -48 inches above both plants in a closet with mylar on the walls as a reflector . With a small fan to circulate air. I normally run from 16-18 hours of light and 6 hours dark. They are both in the vegatative stage. The 8 week old plant i attempted my first F.I.M on and i overdid it. Its coming back thank god i didnt kill it. The 5 week old i just topped at the 6th or 7th node. I added some seaweed to both pots for added nutes. I was unsure if i needed to get nutrients for them because the kit advertised that it had all the nutrients they would need from start to finish. Im very new and unexperienced as u can probably tell. Both plants seem to be doing well . I aquired a 3 in 1 soil tester to try and help ensure im not overwatering and that the ph is between 6 and 7. I havent been keeping track of relative humidity yet. The temperature in the closet stays between 70 and 80 degrees. I havent had any major problems yet. Fingers crossed! I recently had a stem break by accident. I taped it right away and it seems to have healed. Im looking for any advice or critique that would be helpful. There's so much to learn and its like information overload honestly. I would really appreciate anyone who would be willing to help me learn and grow into a confident grower. I understand that its not easy to learn everything quickly and its a slow learning process. Im grateful for any feedback. Thanks look forward to hearing your thoughts/ideas

How much are you trying to yield from this first grow? So far it sounds like yes you will need nutrients, and you need more light. It also sounds like you need to lower the light you have in the meantime, because a 45 watt light 3ft+ above the plants means they are probably super lanky. 45 watts is hardly enough for a few seedlings. Pics help a lot.

For real. 40-48 inches is WAY TOO HIGH. Your lights with 45w should almost be up to the plant. Your branches are breaking cuz of that too. Getting to long cuz they’re stretching for the light and gaining weight so they break. Try putting about 3 of those lights up close about 12 inches Away.

Theyll be fine if you don't overwater or overfeed. Get more holes in that plastic container, and put it inside a second opaque pot- roots don't like light. Also, lower your lights to 12" as stated in previous comments, and consider getting a better light.

Cool thanks i just got a 3in1 soil tester to help me make sure i dont overwater/ the right PH / and it has a light option meter but doesn't work well. The other 2 are more important soil wise anyway right?
