I’m SofaKingHigh and this is my grow room

Welcome to my grow room. This is my first grow diary on this site and I’m excited to get it started. This will also be my first run in the new grow room I built. I ended up getting a bunch of free plywood so I put it to good use. I ended up with a 10’x12’ room in my basement. Went through and put panda film on all the walls and mounted my exhaust fan and ran it out the window in the room. I ended up putting a 4 inch intake hole low on the opposite wall of the exhaust fan, I’m thinking this should be enough but if not I’ll add more. I’m at the point where I just have to run the room and see what needs adjusting to dial in the room. For lights I’m gonna run a Mars hydro tsw2000 which is up now and then a spiderfarmer se5000. I have got 6 wedding cake regular seeds germinated and just waiting for them to pop out. I’ll be running in coco and perlite. As for nutrients I did get some greenleaf mega crop and bloom nutrients that I’m probably gonna run or use up nutrients from last grow not sure yet. I’ll post some pics with this post of my room and a few other things and I’ll keep this grow diary up to date as I progress into the grow and beyond.

So a little more info here. I put 6 wedding cake seeds in wet paper towel on 12/7/21. They all germinated and sat until 12/9/21 when planted into coco and perlite. Now today 12/11/21 all seeds have popped out of coco and are looking healthy.

This is plant #6 with the seed shell still hanging on. This was the smallest of the seeds and looks good after removing shell.


This is how I keep high humidity for my seedlings until some roots can form

Well I got the upgraded spiderfarmer se5000 in the mail today that I won.The grow room is coming along nicely as I get things set up in more permanent places. Seedlings are looking healthy and moving along. I’m definitely gonna have to get a bigger humidifier as I can only hold about 30% humidity with the small one I have now. Damn Colorado winters are very dry, without humidifier it’s at like 14% lol

You can rig up walls with 2 big pieces of plywood wrapped in the panda film & box the grow (for now) into the corner to keep some humidity trapped. Looks like a nice space for a garden.

I was actually thinking about doing that only just making frames and then cover frames with panda film. I just don’t want anything permanent as I’m thinking about doing scroging this run and will want room to move around and be able to tuck the plant. For the time I may throw up something temporary up but most likely I will just invest in a large humidifier. Thanks for your input

Oh that’s cool, I noticed you had a tent in the corner but you aren’t growing in there? Just in the open space?

Yes I was using the 3x3 tent before I built that room and put up panda film. Now that I have a little more light I’m trying out scrog style of growing. I should be able to almost double what I was growing in just the tent. After the room is dialed in I’ll probably use the tent for a mother plant but for now I’m only starting out with seeds.

Just thought I would throw up some pics of my last grows harvest. Both plants were bag seeds and yielded a little over 10 ounces plus a few ounces of smaller buds. I plan to at least double or triple that this round.

That's some photogenic bud. I thought bag seed meant inferior quality. I'm guessing it does not mean that hahah

Thanks man and my thought is if it’s really good bud and you find a seed why not. Especially with some of the prices of seeds lol

Added pallets with some plastic sheeting I had put on it. This will keep the plants up off the cold concrete floor plus plenty of height for when my drain away trays come.

I got my drain away trays in the mail the other day, they will make my life much easier. I’m still debating how to configure them and it really depends on how many females I end up with. So I’ll set it up for all 6 and if I need to change it up I will. Very excited to have an automated system for all my runoff. Big thanks to drain away drain trays, they make a quality tray.

Maaaaannnn!!! That room is awesome!!! So are the lights!!! I have both!!! I know you're going to do great things with that room!!!
