In need of charcoal filter recommedations

Hello all you Weed Nerds. Thank you in advance for your help.

My charcoal filter is not cutting the smell very well at all. I use a no name brand from eBay and I see why it's a no name brand. It barely helps eliminate the smell. Please let me know your favorite brand of filter and fan combination if that matters too. I have Chernobyl, Agent Orange, Dairy Queen, Pandora's Box, Cheese Quake & Kaboom ripening and holy shit it's stinky.

Once again thank you very much.

i have a "Mountain Aire" that's good. Frankly the weight itself is a pretty good indicator. Carbon is heavy. The more carbon, the better. The cheap no names will bite you in the ass. I don't think the model fan makes any difference, as long as it's the right size. All 6" fans blow about the same. All 6" filters flow about the same. I use speed controllers anyway. Full blast is overkill and too noisy.

for fans I like the green hydrofarm ones, I pay 90 bucks a piece and have several that have been running trouble for over 2 years (running 24/7). I use phat filter brand filters and they perform well. I have a 30 inch filter scrubbing air in my flowering room and a 40 inch filter scrubbing my workspace/basement and my home is odor free even when trimming.

I like my Phresh filter. Can Filters are good, too, but VERY heavy. Phresh uses a different grade of carbon that's a little lighter weight.

Something to keep in mind with activated carbon is that high humidity (even just for a short amount of time) will absolutely kill your carbon's efficiency. Gotta keep the air dry if you want your carbon filter to last.

I was coming to say the exact same thing, except for the part about Can filters. I haven't tried can filters. I love Phresh filters. I used to grow Death Star which absolutely REEEEEKED, and my Phresh filter completely eradicated the stank. As SpicySativa stated, you have to keep the humidity down, and you have to make sure that your filter is of the appropriate size for the amount of cfm that you're moving.

I don't have time with all the B.S. thats why I only use Phresh filters. It's really the only filter that you can get away with hanging it in a grow tent.

Thank you everyone for your replies. I really appreciate it. One or more questions if you all don't mind. My bud room is 9 ft x 6 ft x 7ft. That is 378 cubic feet. How big of a fan should I use with a 400 & 600 watt lights in there. Once in a while I will use a second 400 watt bulb if I did really good & have some large bushes in there? Is it 1 air exchange every 5 minutes or 1 every minute. Also should my intake holes be at least twice the size of my exhaust hole? Right now I have a 265 cfm exhaust and it can't keep the humidity at 50 % ever. The hole & current filter is 4 inch diameter. I'm thinking I need to air cool my lights. Would that be the best idea?

Sorry for all the questions but this air exchange and odor control is really tricky for me to solve and you weed nerds are such a great resource of information.

So thank you once again!

6 inch 400+ cfm's. I use the c.a.p 6 inch. $100 5 year warranty. I want to try the vortex silent ones sometime though. I use them for intake and exhaust. I use par t5 and CMH. So no lights need to be cooled down.

Sub has 6 1000's he use 1 2000 cfm fan.
