Incline fan/carbon filter combo setup question...

Hey guys, I have a home made grow tent in my large garage like shed that is 4ftx 4ftx5.5ft. I noticed to much smell outside last grow so I decided to buy a 4 inch incline fan/ carbon filter from htgsupply. My question is should I run my ducting from my light to my fan then attach my carbon filter on the other side blowing out? Or should I have my carbon filter on the side that is sucking or bringing in air? This is probably a newb question but I want to do this legit so I don't mind the embarrassment of asking :-P.
I will be running my ducting from my light through the top of my tent to the upstairs of my shed. There is a vent up there that will be perfect to mount the fan up there. I appreciate any help and suggestions. Thanks!

I use a 4"x12" phresh filter and a 4" ecoplus for an area about that size and it works great. Ecoplus is pretty loud, there are supposed to be some quieter but they dont push as much air.

I have the filter on the exit end. I put the hepa filter cover inside to keep dust from clogging the charcoal also
