indica scrog

Yo, fellow farmers. First timer. I am not worthy.
I've got two sativa plants under cfls about 6 inches high. Almost a month from germination. Very bushy, in 2 gallon soil pots. Using MG at 1/4 strength. 80 degrees.
I want to put them under the 250 W hps in a week or two.
They should be about 12-15 inches by then.
I've read they're gonna stretch for about three weeks and double in size, then chill and start to flower. They should take 8-9 weeks to finish, according to the source. They're a Jock Horror F1.
So, when do I set the screen in? Before stretch, or after? I've got a 6x2x2 foot stealth cabinet built.
Pics coming in a few days.
Pray for girls.:joint:

I would set it in before so you can help the plant by guiding it through the screen as needed. Plus it would much easier on the plant that way stress wise. Praying for girls.

i must agree start now while u have the room to set up once they start stretchin it will be a big pain.

Screens are best around 10 inches above the ground level. This gives you some room to work under the screen. When the plant reaches 8-9 inches tall start training the branches outward under and over the screen. You should probably switch to 12/12 soon after training begins, so the growth spurt will fill the screen.

Question: If it's a male, what do you do?

SCROG is meant for clones.

Potroast, good point. I've been thinking of that--I figure I'll clip off the main stem as soon as I can sex it--the thing should die before any pollen, right? I've read that the untangle is nasty once it's into the screen.
Of course, if I have two girls, life is sweet. If two males, back to the seeds.
I will try to clone if I do get a girl, but I'm newbie and clueless. Should I just tie them out for this run and save the scrog for the clones?

1. What? Nothing going on in here?
2. Ah-ha!
3. Kinda spotty on this one
4. Smile pretty, girls.
5. This focus is poor, but somethings not right.

looks like u may have a magnesium def. check ur ferts to see if they contain it. it also can be locked out by hight levels of sodium, chlorine and floride in tap water. if that be the case u can add some epsom salts to your nutrient solution to correct the preoblem.
