Indoor 2'x4' SCROGGY (Ask/Comment if you want)

Hello Rollitup community.

I'm just posting pictures and information of my current 2x4 tent grow.
The strain is a homemade cross between AK and original Afghani and is called Luca.

The setup is a basic 2'x4' tent, 300 watt (true power) LED with a 4" scrog net made from twine.
The plants are in 5 gallon cloth pots and are bent over and trained into the net parallel to each other (see in pics). This method allows me to use just two plants and a quick veg period (2/3 weeks) to completely fill the net and have all the buds stretch up to the light once switched to flower.

For nutrients....5-7-7 slow release (has micro nutrients as well & cal/mag) at start of veg and again at start of flower. Mix handful in soil and water every week, but don't let the water fully drain out, once you see it trickling out bottom stop, you want to retain the nutrients in the soil not run them out. The first handful of slow release at veg will add to the second handful at flowering to add about 3 weeks of overlap (2x rate) at the time of flower. However the 2nd handful will run out 2 weeks before finish. I flush for 2 weeks with tap water, as the plant has a lot of nutrients in its xylem you want out for smoking.

I have supplemental CO2 in the form of a 2L glass pyrex bottle and fermentation bung....the mixture is 1.8L water 5mL of root booster nutrient to add NPK for microbes (they need NPK too), 350g sugar and two table spoons of yeast. Will last about a week then I remake it. How do you know its working? You know its working when the humidity levels and temperature levels rise inside the tent a few days after co2 is added. When excess CO2 is in the atmosphere (400+ ppm) the plants will literally open there stoma (little breathing mouths on bottom of leaves) and exchange gas/water vapor with the air. You can literally feel the tents atmosphere change after a few days into a jungle type high humidity environment. Once the excess CO2 is gone you will notice it turn back to the original bland state of atmospheric 400ppm co2. Plants LOVE co2 its how they evolved and thrived. The decaying jungle/forest floor offers very high levels of CO2, when growing pot CO2 is your best friend.

I also supplement with ~50 watts of UVB/UVA reptile CFL bulbs to add some stress and THC production. I aim for about 1.3 uw/m2 for 6hrs a day. Bought from local pet store.

I used to keep clones/mothers but it to much a hassle....I just order clones now being in Canada :P

Next thing is getting a Growcraft 330w....I need an LED light like the Growcraft that allows me to get ~900 umol of light from corner to corner for flowering. I want a complete scrog. My current light is just a generic COB LED grow light, not enough coverage.

Any questions just ask! I have a science degree in biotechnology so i like to discuss high level growing.

about 2.5 weeks into flower currently.

I use twine for the scrog net so i can move the string back and forth to make squares smaller or larger or push the mass to the center. The ability to slide the shorter strings on the net is very important for training the plant.

In my setup the light has low coverage area, so i used the end strings on either side and pushed them towards the middle to concentrate the biomass in the high umol area of the light.

Use this to make your fermentation vessel for co2
you have to make a new sugar/water/nutrient batch each week, as the ethanol from the yeast will kill the culture/fermentation.
DO NOT DRINK IT, you will get sick.

Update.

Almost halfway through flower ~35days, this Luca strain takes about 8-9 weeks for massive harvest.
Took some more pics of the set up, like the CO2 fermentor at the bottom and the UV light I use - cause why not. I have two of them in there I just took the other one out for the picture (both 26w UVB 150 reptile bulbs at about 8").

Crazy bud site development - since my light has a small area to obtain 800-900umol, I move it back and forth every 24hrs so the entire canopy gets even light.

Day temps are 28-30C 60%humidity, night time are 20C with 50%humidity...just use two desk top clip fans. This sativa strain likes the heat and humidity.

Still only using organic slow feed nutrients from local hardware-store love this stuff, not a single yellow leaf even on the bottom side.
I work close to a dairy farm so I also added about 500mL of liquid dairy manure to each pot for some beneficial microbes - they charge way to much for the stuff in a bottle/bag.

Will update ever week or so.
Getting CO2 meter to determine the effectiveness of the ethanol fermentation for co2.

Update!! 2 weeks left!!

Looking great, only extra nutrient I added was 2tbsp/gallon of black strap molasses to help create more beneficial microbes in the soil to break down the slow feed nutrient faster.

Added bluepurple 30 watt side lighting, the buds actually seems to be growing larger on the purblue side, mabye this shitty Chinese cob light is lacking in red spectrum, can't wait to get my growcraft 300watt.
