Hi guys. A lot of this is repeated from my introduction post.
This is my second grow ever - the first was around a decade ago, with a minimal budget and a bit of of a ridiculous setup.
This time around I'm determined to do it properly, though my budget still isn't the best. I'm growing in a small tent under a budget LED, with quick feminised autoflowers in coco/perlite. I've realised that the LED I'm using is kind of underpowered and I need to think about upgrading it when I have the funds, maybe to a quantum board as I've read that they're legit, but I'm not likely to be able to afford that for a while so I need to make the most of what I have for now.
I have a Northern Lights and a Critical x Jack Herer that both went in the pots after germination on 6th May, and another Northern Lights that went in on the 8th. The Critical x Jack Herer is a bit of a crazy mutant. After the first few nodes she's become a trifloiate (at least I think that's the right term). I'm hoping this doesn't have too significant an impact on her. Also the younger Northern Lights seems pretty stunted compared to the others. I've just started early LST on the two older girls, they seem to be responding fairly well so far. I don't think the younger Northern Lights is quite ready yet, but I intend to start training her pretty soon. They're all shorter than I'd like, I think in future grows I'll start the light higher to encourage them to stretch a bit more.
The first few weeks went pretty smoothly but now I'm dealing with issues that I'm struggling to diagnose, despite my best efforts. I'm not sure if I'm dealing with nute burn/toxicity, deficiencies, or a combination of both. I suspect PH might be a factor as I don't entirely trust my PH meters, and the runoff PH is significantly higher than what I'm putting in.
I hope to keep this journal updated fairly regularly. Please feel free to comment, I'd welcome any input you guys can offer as I want to make sure I do the best I can with this grow.
