Alot of factors determine how 'much' power you can yield from solar panels: Geographical location, number of sunny days on average your state gets, and even temperature. Most people don't know that as the temperature climbs, the DC output of your panels drops. Best setup is 40-60 degrees tilt (depending on summer or winter)facing south with a moderate temperature. Also many think of roof mounted solar panels when they think of solar PV but they can also be mounted as an array on the ground like mine. If you *do* go ground mount then white crushed rock on the ground reflects alot of light upwards towards your panels and adds about 10-15% more power! My 5.6kw array saves me roughly $150.00 month in electric. The grid was 34 thousand installed, but I didn't have to pay anywhere near that. Best money I ever spent.
