Indoors From Seed With Organic Soil

I like your garden, looks healthy and right!

I thought i might try that potassium silicate, best of both worlds but after seeing it's ph to be 11 wow! Great if you have acidic soil, it's unfortunate as my soil is on the alkaline side.

I've been using diatamaceous earth for its silica and definitely noticed a difference in branch strength.

my soil does runs a lil on the acidic side, I add a good amount of amender to the soil which brings the ph down, I counter it with a handful or two of dolomite lime as it bakes.
first time using this soil I usually bake mine from scratch, but this round I cheated and got some soil from a local company named Biological Crop Solutions. It's there gold soil and out the bag I ran soil test and saw the NPK numbers a lil low so I gave it some amender as well as a couple other ingredients. threw some water on top n mixed the hell out of it for a week and chilled down the mixings the next week then just let it sit in the sun turning it once a week. Good amount of work, but pays off in the end. The place also has a full organic nutrient line which kinda dummies stuff, but I love it makes life alot easier working full time and not trying to have to gather shit from near n far and dodging hydro shops trying to sell me down a river.

That's handy to have a backup soil, it looks like you have your soil dialed, mine is steadily improving but taking time to work out the bugs. I ph'd my last soil batch (brand new recipe) and before cook it came to 6.5 ph. After 40 days it's now resting at a ph of 7.5! I suspect because I have too much dolomite lime, instead of that I bought a bag of gypsum for next soil. My vegging plants are growing really well in it thus far but I have to swing my water ph down to 5.5 to 5.9 to drift it thru the optimal uptake range. At the recommendation of doublea i am going to do a hard correction on it before the transplant, it's getting a few rounds of ph 4 to see if that works.

Lol, hydro shops, I agree, pointless money pit.

some people say you dont ha e to adjust your ph when in soil, but it's very vague. I personally ph my water to around 6.3-6.7 before I add any ingredients, but not after. wouldn't put anything into my soil water wise lower than 6.0 ph and adjust it slowly down or it shocks the plant and it's kinda like pushing water up hill.... from some of my previous fails switching from hydro to soil lol.

FIRST DAY OF FLOWER!
Got that auto outta the tent and now its game on.
20200417_152140.jpg Started the first flowering tea today got it bubbling up for tomorrow. Did a job right next to Harborside, so I decided to pick up some genetics while they were fresh and a rolling tray. Kinda liking Equilibrium seeds so far 5 out of 6 beans popped, running 3 of em and waiting to see if ones a male still kinda stretchy but sexy. Seems like they use a good amount of landrace strains which I love. Anyways hope everyone is staying safe and doing well.20200417_144305.jpg

trying a lil bit of everythin but leaning towards phosphorous on this transition tea not an organic expert, but if anyone's sees any discrepancy pls let me know. haven't added the liquid bloom, mykos or humic acid yet. I'm gonna take a couple liters out for my tomatoes n peppers to dilute before I add the bloom. the humic acid is mixed in towards the end and the mykos is mixed in right before application. Been running high with the humic acid during veg with literally every feeding at 1/4 - 1/2 strength tapering down and adding more molasses as the flowering progresses. any tips again pls let me know been growing for 10 years on and off but still far from expert still wrapping my mind around the completely organic realm, but goin full in.20200418_104847.jpg

nice lil cleaning with the foliar spray today. Also installed the carbon filter and ducting for the exhaust already has that premature stink to it. Showing female on the #3 I hope it sticks like I said time will tell. 20200418_151101.jpg20200418_162147.jpg20200418_162116.jpg20200418_152103.jpg20200418_163852.jpg

Scrogs filling in did a lil training on HT CBD#3. Fuckin opposite day for HT CBD#2 in the back left corner booster seat comin soon lol, but in all cant be happier with the height situation with the lighting. foliar feeding today lol then figuring out a watering situation for the scrog to make it easier on my back or make an extension with1/2 tubing off my watering jug and connect an emmiter on the end. I would love to just be able to hook some tuning right up to the flora cap, but I have dry top feeding to add during bloom, so I need to fully water through.... first worl problems. Hope everyone's 420 went well peace out yall.

1 week of flower down and just a tiny bit nitrogen toxicity starting to show. kinda wanna use the top dressing as a lil nutrient snack I add in with my waterings, so I can set up a lil watering system to make life easier, but first a lil ol ph'd flush with some water. first time using this soil again just making sure I didnt run out of nitrogen before the end of bloom. like the auto did 2 weeks in flower, but that was my first mistake.... fuckin auto. could I add a lil liquid kelp to assist with this 0-0-1?

made a lil reservoir setup to store and bubble off the water after exposure to the sun and put a lil pump in it. gonna make a lil on/off switch to hit to fill a 5 gallon buvket to aerate and mix my feedings. then I will be able to slide the bucket a foot or two over to the drip system, which I'll set up to feed individually.
moving over to the transition to bloom, I need to add another week of straight watering. even thought i watered with runoff for a while now still getting a super high runoff ppm 2200! my input was 560ppm.... heavy watering comin tomorrow been hitting 85 in the tent and drying out the soil pretty fast. Straight water, kelp n molasses at 1/4 dosage straight baby feed. anyone know how soil ppm can be so high n only showing very slight signs of nitrogen toxicity? or how to adjust the ppms down a better way that I'm about to do? I did water with a 1/4 feeding of megaphos on the 22nd, so it should be taking up more phosphorous and with previous trials it shows to cut off the uptake of nitrogen if you use too much, but it works if used correctly.
sorry for the rambling I like to store this kinda stuff in my journal for future references. all help is appreciated one love and hope everyones day is going well.

Went to do a watering today and the soil is still pretty wet, so I held off on the watering but noticed more than usual gnats flying around. so i mixed up some doctor zyme I believe it's called and sprayed down the first 1" or 2" of soil. then when I was down there I noticed some useless foliage, so I cleaned that up as well and now I can see some soil through the top of the foliage. Then I truely started scroggin with some wire tie and spread the canopy out for some better light and airflow. 20200426_163917.jpg

After all that I was on cruise control and set up the water and drip system. all I need is a couple for the 1/2 hose and we are ready to water. didnt set it up to be able to water each plant individually. started thinking of all the connections and saw leaking points, so less moving parts if u can say and I can just cap em off and hand water if the need to go longer etc. 20200426_161407.jpg

ok so after applying the lil flush today I found out the HT with a runoff of 2000ppm is not as hungry as the BxKC with 1080ppm runoff. imput ppm was 150ppm. I can definitely tell in the leaves of the BxKC super vigerous would be a great cross let's see what she does in flower. i still have a good amount of seeds left, so that nice hope they are as nice as this pheno.

took a pic of the ladies last night lookin hella happy after the watering today. next watering I will apply the liquid bloom n seabird poop apparently the top bloom has too much nitrogen I guess it gets from bone meal. although I'm getting a tiny bit of tip burn literally on 4 leaves all way low that dont get that much light, so hopefully that's the extent of that.20200427_212916.jpg
