Introducing co2 mid cycle?

I am three weeks into 12.12 right now, and my plants are looking a little on the smaller size. I'm hopeful they fill in nicely, and I have a little extra cash and I figured I would look into buying a co2 emitter. I don't want to burn the gas, I just want the system that will release on its own. How much of an investment am I looking at and is it okay to introduce it several weeks in?

My nutes PPM is at 1100 right now. My room is not 100% sealed, but I'm sure it would help considerably right to add co2?

Yup co2 at any cycle in the plants life will difinitely help.

Your looking to buy a used 20lb co2 tank which should be in the 100 range. Then you buy the regulator and the solenoid, hydrofarm sell those for i think 80. Then you just have to refill them everytime it runs out which is probably 2-6 days depending on your usage which is average 30 dollars each refill.

I can't imagine the boost works as good as a tank. Have you guys had good results with co2 boost? I likely wouldn't be able to put the hose right near the plants, but I could maybe go in there some of the time when it's being released to point it at the plants (Is it okay to breathe in...it seems yes, but I thought all co2 in high levels is dangerous)

I think my local hydro store rents out tanks, and then you just buy the regulator. Obviously the tank works alot better?

I just looked at hydrofarms regulator... does that come with everything you need to run it besides the tank and gas? I would need to ventilate my room and it says you may need a infared to put your fan on cruise control...what exactly do they mean by this? I have a fan dimmer, but you can't put that thing on a timer I don't believe. Cant you just turn off your vents for five or so minutes, release the gas and then put em back on? I always thought co2 was released during their night time but it appears from this article its lights on?

best thing to do is to rig the air hose onto a fan to have it dispense into the fan and the fan blowing onto your plants. Co2 is heavier then air, remember that and plants only use co2 when lights or on(during photosysthesis period). The hydrofarm regulator should have a solenoid with it that turns it on/off (allow co2 through and off). Just don't worry about the vent because thats what keeps the temperature right.

What do you mean dont worry about the vent? You mean about venting my room? Isn't it kind of a waste to be venting your room while your co2 is being released?

nah man, you always want to exchange air!"fresh air" i would vent at all times, then when i add co2 i would fill room all day then vent just a little, just my thoughts if i was growing.
