Is 1000w enough???

I'm in the preplanning stages of my new grow room. I'll be getting a house with a large basement and am looking at putting a room together to house 25+ girls. 25 being the minimum. The part I am stuck on is lighting. I'm not sure how much I'll need. The last couple grows in my old room have been small scale and used two 4ft shop lights in a 6ftx6ft room. The yields were less than spectacular. For this room I was thinking of a size between 6x6 and 8x8. I planned in the budget for a 1000w mh/hps. Do you guys know if that will be enough light to produce a decent yield? Thanks in advance. =)

For 25 plants i would use 2 600 watt lamps. Possibly even three. I don't see one lamp covering the area needed for 25 plants. Don't forget the electricity bill.

I'd go with a 600 to start in a 4x4 area...iron out the kinks and then add another light when you're ready. Just my 2 cents

I've flowered 25 plants under 1k. 3x3 flood and drain table. Plants were about 6-8" high when flipped to 12/12.
