Hey peeps, I was wondering if any of you had ever used CO2BOOST that red and white pail selling for about 100.00$ a shot,,i'd like to add it to my grow for the last few weeks of budding but i don,t know if its worth it.

thanks for the input

I"m using it, but I don't really know if it helps or not cause I've never grown without it.

I just got it a couple weeks ago and its worked very well. I have the temps light on at a consistent 79-80f and the plants are lovin it. I have the c02 line coming down from the light pretty much to disperse the c02 on the plants perfect. And u have a small clip on fan pushing c02 to stay down because once co2 warms up ot wants to rise, and having a fun keeps it balanced and the plants are loving it.

i just put the tube into my oscilating fans like they suggest, blows the co2 all over all the plants.

you really dont need co2 if you are well ventilated and temps are under control. C02 is more neccesary when temps are high and or air may get stagnant or stale.

ok but i thought CO2 was like a miracle worker in weed and doubled you yield and shit , what's this all about?

i thought that co2 boosted growth of plants cuz thats what they take in and let out o2 for us..

exactly, now peeps are saying that its only when temperatures are way up, but I also heard that above 29degrees celcius the intake of CO2 from plants was way down.... anyone care to elaborate, cuz i,m a litlle lost

thanks

co2boost is basicly mushroom mycelium. You could grow some oyster mushrooms in your grow room to boost co2. Buy mushroom spores one time (under $20.00) and you can keep them going forever. :peace:

Hey guys this thing is pretty legit. Yea it cost $100 every 60-90 days but i mean this thing is working soooo nice. I am planning to buy another one so i will have two running in my 4x8 flower tent, along with a green air co2 monitor and enviromental control. I'v read that one in a 4x8 tent read up to 1500 ppm's. But i donno about that its more for direct contact of the plants not to keep up ppm's. But i bet with 2 of them in my tent i might pull it off. Anyways co2 boosts are great for smaller spaces, rather i co2 tank for decent sized rooms, and a co2 propane burner for large rooms. I am very happy with it, i would highley recomend!!

You shouldn't look at CO2 as an instant yield-improving device, because it is more complicated than that. You can't just throw it in and "double yields". I also have never heard anything about only needing it if temps are high. A plant will withstand higher temps in a CO2-rich environment, but any plant will benefit from them. Really, for CO2 to be a big benefit to you, you need to have everything else perfect-- They need to be getting fed the right amounts, and be getting more than enough light. If they do not have more light than they already need, they will eat and breathe at a normal rate. So, before you worry about CO2, do you have everything else sorted out?

those co2 buckets are a waste IMO, you spend 100 for the bucket and 100 for the refills....that bogus...

why not just get a co2 regulator & tank ?

cuz a regulator and a tank and all that comes with it just represents more than i can afford right now, and I'M looking for a slightly cheaper way so that although my means are limited I can still try to optimize my grow.... that's pretty much the jist of it my friend....

we'll i've searched for a second hand tank and regulator and at minimum it comes out 350 bucks man and brand new its comes out to amost 450.00 $ so i guess we don't live in the same area...lol

Whoa, that sounds high for any area. If you look in the right places for a CO2 tank, you can get great prices. Try welding supply stores, beer distributors (they sell tanks of all sizes for kegboxes), and restaurant supply stores. I know in my town, we have a restaurant supply store that sells secondhand supplies from restaurants that went out of business. They sell just about everything restaurant related (and almost all restaurants use lots of CO2 tanks... Unless you see them pour soda out of a can or bottle, they have tanks). If you shop down those avenues, I guarantee you will get some better prices. In getting a CO2 tank together, the regulator should be the only thing that will be even mildly expensive. Tanks are just big hunks of metal. Keep shopping around.

What are the temps in your room you really dont need C02 unless your temps are high

I'd like to expand on this.

Or in a closet/confined/low ventilation space.

(and CO2 can't hurt. Got the extra $, then go for it. But you can over saturate the space and wind up going backwards/hurting. I have a semi CO2 set up. 1 second shot @ 20PSI every 20 minutes. not a whole lot, but it is a closet. Plants look good. though can't say its because of the CO2)

What is the temp point that CO2 is desired? Also is it a 'solution' for rooms that just can't get a lower temp? Or just a hack for high temp rooms?

As to the OP, there are a few methods of producing CO2. BJs/Costco baking powder (or soda, I get them mixed up) and vinegar. $10 or so and a few month's supply.

Pants want CO2 on the leaves and O2 on the roots. Plants make their own food from light and CO2 on the leaves: photosynthesis.

I have heard that only use CO2 during flowering. I disagree with this. They need CO2 all the time. But during the flowering there seems to be a lot of growth and they need more CO2.

There is a happy balance. Too much of anything is bad. (I read here somewhere, where a guy use his paintball can, and let it empty in the room over night BAD idea ANd if his lights were off, it was all wasted. My 20oz paintball can lasts me about 4 weeks for veg. I'm only trying to add some to the room, not the*exact perfect amount*) Slow, regulated flow. And ONLY when the lights are on and vent fans are OFF. (my system is set up this way, if fan is on, no CO2, if lights are off, no CO2. you can have the CO2 turn on while the fans are on, but kinda a waste. Now that is ventilation fans and not circulation fans)

Or just buy the mushrooms and cut the stems and let them sit the tops on a piece of paper. The spores fall out of the 'fins' from underneath the top. Makes a cool pattern on the paper too. Did this in grade school.

(plus ya get some munchies!)
