sorry im new to this and was wondering if it is safe to keep the lights on my plants while im away from home thanks
is it safe to keep lights on while not at home?

As long as your lights are on a timer keeping the same schedule they will be fine.

Be sure to check every wire connection and lights not falling/touching plant said above. If you completed this step your ready to go outside.

As already stated, providing your lights don't have a risk of slipping and as long as all wiring is electrically sound then don't worry at all about leaving it. Those steps should be taken even if you spend the next 3months sat at the door to your grow room tho so i expect you're already good in that aspect.

YEah i mean I'm only home 1/4 of the time because of work and other obligations...
Invest in a timer, and make sure where ever your plugged into Isn't being over loaded with the accumulative voltage of what you've plugged in.
Perfectly safe, i mean you cant be around to watch them 24/7 eh? Even in flowering at 12/12, your not gonna be around all the time... Unless your a hermit.

I was worried too, being new to hps and mh. but timer works great and trouble free.

I always schedule my lights to come on and off (12/12) when I am home. Prefer them to be on when someone is here - just in case. When on 24/7 (just a month usually) I'm a little unconfortable leaving them when on - but do as life goes on.

if it makes you feel better, I have 12 600 watt hps and 2 one k mh bulbs running, im hardly home, usually at work at the casino spending money,

There is always an inherent danger. Heck, I'm as worried about losing a vent fan as starting a fire.. There is a LOT going on in that little fake world we create.
