Is it time for curing?

Harvesting early will result in less dense buds that dry to quickly. So while it may smell good at before and at harvest. The buds dry so fast they never properly develop their dry flavor.

It also results in underdeveloped terpenes. That in combination with drying fast reduces overall smell and flavor beyond the actual plant material.
No early harvest here, there was a lot of amber and bud was exploded. but it was raised in high heat stress (30-32 Celsius) , as I wrote in the original post - I did it cause I got too many plants and didn't want to throw them all, so I found a place for 2 plants with some e27 light, but no air condition.

So you may have a point that its not the best developed buds, but I will update when try them.

BTW I have the same strain to compare with in a tent, so it will be nice to see if there is a big difference, only it will take time.

I used it once before to dry 3 plants, its great, got a carbon filter so no smell.
The fan is a very very noisy computer fan, very cheep one, I changed it to a quite one for few more bucks (in the nearest computer store)
If you don't care about the noise than its fine.

Its a great solution if you want to keep on running your tent, I had 3 different strains so I had to.

I got this one
Awesome good to know, yeah I have a whole bunch running right now. I just got the 30cm one. Looking forward to trying it out.

I use the K.I.S.S. method. Trim in the pot, dry in the pot and jar when it smokes smooth as silk,
Bud moisture content is 10-15% however many days that requires. I'm not on a schedule.
What do you mean dry in the pot? Just stop watering? I mostly grow outdoors but fuck around with clones in a tent and that sounds interesting.

You argued with me on a couple subjects then turn up here, best to tune out and let me so my thing whilst you work your errors out.

It does suck bad here, look at the dumbass industry your creating, boveda wedryers, led hype for another year - noobs without a doubt, stick to your little world and leave the real world alone for those who want real info.

I’m agreeing with the @2Hearts jackass and he doesn’t even realize it. What a goon. What he was saying makes sense he’s just such a jackass about it, you tune it out.

I'm taking your advice on this harvest and letting it dry natural and no jarring. Its tasting and smelling amazing, girlfriend was well impressed last night. Thanks man :bigjoint:

Says the guy trying to sell people “Bagveda” On another thread. which isn’t even a real product. Lol your right it does suck BUT atleast we show and prove and thus learn and grow. Your cup is already full but seems your bowl is empty. I could never use any information from you knowing that you don’t even grow. So please leave the information giving to REAL growers. Even a bad one on here has more experience than you because atleast they have a plant in front of them. Prove me wrong.

I saw the boxing gloves on the ground and decided to weigh in.

1. I dry between 10 -14 days at 18c. Ref. Cannabis Encyc. Jorge Cervantes and Harvesting Cannabis Ed Rosenthal.
2. Here's some science behind it because people seem to forget curing plant has been studied using tobacco.
a. Why do we cure in a RF 55-63? because outside this spectrum allows proliferation of bacteria/protozoa that create nasty compounds in our crop such as weird esters that smell like bad milk.
b. temperature above 18c evaporate essential oils
3. Flushing is not scientifically proven. The plant will cease nutrient uptake as it dies. Nutrient salts in mass within the cellular walls and osmosis makes it difficult for it to expel.

Always use science! also read the books from those before us!

Do you ever slam your fist on the table while reading this site and just scream, “balderdash!” over and over again?

Thanks Dabbie. i don't have temps this low and was wondering what harm it causes.

do you or anybody know what the absence of essential oils, or in other words curing above 60F, will do to the finished prod?

what is 'essential' oil vs. run-of-the-mill oil?

lastly, jab jab jab, @2shmoo smoodude.

Its a great way to do it, teaches you where taste and flavour come from and puts major emphasis on not jarring till your bud is properly finished - most still dont understand and think you need to jar to get bud to taste and smoke well.

I only wish a picture would substitue a 10000 word esay on the response curve of stoma conductance in monochromatic light but it simply leaves the subject lacking as you and a lot of others are doing with most subjects here.

If you find an error in what i say then a simple and detailed writeup of explanation will surfice, i really am not intrested in recieving picture answers and do not offer them unless in data format representing graphical values or diagrammatic systems.

I could have just left the Jean Luc face palm meme but think you will agree that a few paragraphs explain my point much better.

I find error in your character. And anyone can google stuff and sound like they know. I could read a million books and still not know how to grow, cure or harvest a plant. To me personally it is very important to know that the person giving me information is a seasoned GROWER and not a seasoned GOOGLER. I myself do not have the knowledge and experience of the growers on here that have my respect. And they have my respect by actually growing and showing us how it is done. Much props to them because without them I’d have some really shitty dry ass bud right now.
