Is it time to Flush?

Dont count 8 weeks from flipping the lights. The breeders generally go from the first sign if preflowers, which is usually a week or so after flip.

When i did northern lights #5, i went 9 weeks from flip and then flushed...let em go for 4 days then chopped.

Some people say flushing is stupid, but....anybody who likes quality smoke will tell you different. Unflushed is harsh and snaps, crackles and pops when burning even if cured properly. Flushed is nice and smooth.....

The amount of weight that you might, maybe lose by not flushing is very very minimal if you let thebflowers finish properly...

so not true

Seriously. Should I go flush my apple trees and pumpkins? This the season. Oh wait, when researching " flushing plants" its all links to here and other stoner sites. Weird, I guess all of the agricultural operations in the world are missing something.

If your weed "pops" or doesn't burn right, try drying it more instead of going on a campaign of lies with your poor plants.
true.

Ok people, flushing doesn't work the way it's regurgitated on these forums.

1. You cannot remove "artificial fertilizers" from the plant itself.

2. You can flush (leech) salts that are built up in the soil.

3. Wether you use synthetic or organic ferts, the plant doesn't give a shit. Organic ferts are slow release and arnt readily available. microbes break that down into an inorganic form which is usable for your plant. Synthetics are immediately available for use by your plant.

4. Wether you choose to flush or not, your dry and curing process is what affects the flavor of your product.

5. Idk why any of you would choose to starve your plant from nutes a couple of weeks before harvest. That is one of the most critical points in your plants life and you want to stop feeding it?

6. Last but not least, flushing will starve the root zone of oxygen, think about what happens when you overwater. No oxygen to the roots and your plant starts to die. The benefit from that is that you will actually begin the curing process while your plant is alive.

Read that and take from it what you can, or ignore it and keep doing what you believe is best for you

Also as for the snap pop crackle, some say it's due to Unfermented sugars in the plant or I've also read that it could be magnesium.
true.listen to the botanist!

Rob..you started a shit storm with the "F" word. To answer your question, your plants appear to be 2-3 weeks away from harvest, but watch 'em, things can change rapidly.

Look for these things to happen:
1) Ratio of clear cloudy amber trichromes to be in the neighborhood of 10% - 75% - 15%
2) Pistills turn dark and recede into the calyxs
3) Plant looks finished.

Breeders time estimates are bullshit. They start from when the plant starts to show flowers. We (growers) start the day we flip to 12/12.

I've only flushed when using chemical nutes. I don't flush with organic nutes.

OP, imo you have done very well 1st time...I mean those might be in the top 95% tile of best 1st grow I've every seen (including my own) imo I'd go 1 maybe 2 more weeks then plain water for the last week
Thanks dude, I really appreciate that. Also thanks for the advice. I wanted to get some advice since I have never harvested before.

No reason to flush unless you've over-fed. If a grower has to flush, it is his/her error that caused too much late nitrogen and/or salt build-up. Keep in mind water only in the last week, is not flushing.

If trics, are showing mostly cloudy, I'll just stop feeding. So its not really a flush, there's no good reason to feed a plant thats near the end of the life cycle. Especially with a synthetic feed And theres plenty of nutrition left in the soil and in the plant tissue.

Theres not much motivation to keep an annual looking perfect till the end, Id rather cut off the feed before its harvest. If its organic, ill keep feeding light teas mainly to maintain the soil for recycling.

The OP hasn't given much detail either. Hydro, Soil?.. Organic.. Synthetic?..

Feed light at the end 1/4 or lighter NFTG is what I consider synthetic concentrated feed, should be plenty of nutrition left in that much mix... Its an annual plant, that is pushing its resources to reproduce, it doesn't need much at the end if you ask me. Save your nutrient when its needed.

That style of nutrient is more palatable, I've used similar products like Flora Nova, PBP, Heavy 16. and the feedback I get is better than something like Maxbloom that is flushed when comparing flowers.

We are finally reaching the end of my first of many grows . These to strains are Special Queen #1(6-8 week flower) and Northern Lights x Big Bud(8 week flower). They are currently on day 49 from the start of 12/12 I feel as if it is time to flush them but i wanted to get some second opinions. These are pictures of the NLxBB cross

In spite of all the nay sayers....try flushing a couple plants and then leave the others....then do a side by side taste test. Smoke the flushed and unflushed backbto back. The proof is in the pudding...

These posts need to stop.
Flushing your plants is just plain stupid.

Have you ever gotten a tomato that tasted like the nutrients it was used with? No.
Do some research on how plants uptake nutrients.
depriving your plants of nutrients for the last week or two will do nothing but harm them.
Loose yield etc.

Please stop flushing.
have you ever eaten a tomato that has gone threw a flush? They definatley taste different but in tje US we have a saying "your comparing apples to oranges" what im saying is cannibus is a different creature than tomatos.

my hydro guy didn't recommend unicorn poop, would that get me to 3 lbs per light? can the spike be silver in color? or does it have to be real silver? cause Imma gonna have to rob some bitches to get that kinda cheese.
Sorry if in hydro u make a tea from the poop and my mistake I was confused with vampires .... Rusty nail for pot, silver for vampires. Sorry for the confusion, no need to rob bitches, unless u want to that is.

I am not here to argue.
I have grown fruits and vegetables flushed and non before I started growing Cannabis.
I have also flushed hydro and not as well as soil and not.
There is no difference except you are depriving the plants of the nutrients they need.
A good cure will bring out terpine profiles. Flushing has nothing to do with it.

Do some research?? Hahahahahah

Maybe you should. Like try smoking flushed weed and smoking not flushed weed. Dont be a moron...
with all to respect there are well known PROFESSIONAL growers that always flush with great results so do your reaseach and dont jusy take some interenet gurus ideas
I'm a professional grower. I have 2 shops and 3 grows. I started breeding again too......I've grown Cannabis for 41 years.....
I USED to flush, many, many, years ago.....Then I learned about plants and just what I'm doing with them and how they work.

I DO NOT FLUSH......EVER!

PROPER DRY AND CURE!!!!

High Times Danny Danko is wrong!
Skunk mags The REV is full of more shit then he builds his "soil" with.
Sub Tool is, well, WRONG.
Jorge has his head up his ass on more then this.
Bring up ED ROSENTHAL, I dare you! He no longer says anything about "flushing"...

Thank you for backing me up here Dr.Who.
Soo many members here who have no understanding of Botany shoving misinformation at newbies and even more advanced growers.
Plants need nutrients throughout their whole life.
Good Cannabis and terpine profile comes grow a good dry and a good cure.

Flushing is just plain stupid
