Is oily water bad?

Water is getting to be a real pain in the ass for me. I used tap until it started tasting like chlorine, so I bought 5 gallon bottles from the store and had them filled but it costs money and they add shit to it. So now I go to my local "artesian" well and it has this oily shit barely visible on top. Is the oil from the well or the bottles? Is it bad to feed plants oily water only if it's a little bit of oil?

Letting your tap water sit for 24 hours will be your cheapest solution by far, and is effective.

If worry is this much a worry i suggest getting tap water and boiling it to (sterilise it) then letting that cool down and watering the plants with that.

Get you a container that will hold all the water you will be using when you water you plants. Leave it sit over night. If that doesnt give you piece of mind then add a few drops of Chlor Out to the water. It instantly conditions the water and removes the chlorine. You can find it at Walmart for about $5 or any place that sells fish and aquariums.
