Is Pot Hot?

I know my pot is always hot when I put my flame to it!

And as a Medical Marijuana Media Maven, I know that pot is hot in the media as of late, especially with the news surrounding Tax & Regulate 2010.

Generally I don't call cannabis pot but I noticed that the media uses the word "pot" in titles of articles and sometimes throughout their pieces about the herb with medicinal value. Cannabis goes by so many different names and pot is one of them. What do you think of the word 'Pot"?

And as an English Literature major, I love literary word games such as rhymes. So Pot is Hot is the latest slogan to support Tax and Regulate 2010 which is a ballot intiative that will appear on California's November 2, 2010 ballot.

The website has words in the background that describe what pot is:

Yes, I wrote a blog that I copied and pasted here to solicit feedback about the slogan, the image, the concepts that it contains. I didn't created the slogan, the image, or the website. I just wanted to stimulate conversations about these things. How can it be "spam" if I am looking for feedback? I would have responded earlier but I've been away from my laptop.

I am not exactly sure what's the harm in what I've posted.

Maybe I'm wrong & you're just trying to get some feedback as you said - but it does look a bit spammy! My bad if I'm wrong though.. just looked like you were trying to get some exposure to the product/T-shirt page..which would be a bit naughty if you are behind the project

I really don't like your slogan 'pot is hot' - 'hot' typically a slang word used by young people and companies use that word to market to young people, 'pot' is something old people think of as 'the deadly drug marijuana' or it reminds people of the streotypical 'pot head'....so what does this look like to some of the older folk brainwashed by reefer madness? It looks like the young people and/or 'Pot heads' are trying to legalize drugs....Really this is not a good slogan at all and I wish you would use something else.

In a way your giving fuel to the anti-marijuana people here.

why all the concern over words lately? seems trivial, yet it keeps coming up.

Personally, I never call it 'pot'. Like you said, that seems to be more of a media word these days (in my experience). And, I'm not so fond of the word 'hot' either - makes me think of paris hilton, or reminds me of back when I was in sixth grade... 'Farrah Fawcett is hot'. (I'm old).

i say "pot", or "weed". that's pretty much it.

Sounds like a bad slogan to me. Sounds like a Beer Commercial.

i have concern over what its called because no one should EVER call it "marijuana", especially those that really for the cause of legalization. as for other words most dont bug me that much except pot lol but no big deal.. i prefer ganja, cheeba, green or just cannabis.

Marijuana....wasn't that a nasty 'propaganda' word made used by the government to try and make all you americans think it was dirty mexican poison?
Here in NZ we call it pot or weed (or electric puha....but thats another story =D)
I don't like the word pot myself, me-likes 'cannabis'....far more scientific/accurate.

I have many names for POT, reffereeno, dubia, khan, weed, smj, hippie hay, ganja, sats, sativ..etc. and pot, why not, who cares what the media says, people need to start having their own minds and stop being so influenced by what they see on TV, I canceled my cable and watch everything on the net now, way better, I get to choose my programs, no commercials, and I don;t have to accept propaganda from major TV organizations, Why would you let advertisers ruin a handle for cannabis that has been around forever...fuck em, enjoy the word! OH ya and drop the HOT, who are ya, paris hilton...lol....

an the scientific name is "Cannabis Sativa"
from the family "Cannabaceae"

Yeh, Pot and Hot are both young words and all American. I never call it pot, makes her sound sort of simple in my opinion. Good idea however, a variety of 'slogans' would be ace.
