Is the Market crashing everywhere?

The legal market is crashing here for some, to many players with the same bud, The BM is thriving for the ones who have lived and grown here for decades its all about knowing the locals here.
People not having any customers aside from the guy who is buying all of their LBs will not survive. The # game is dead.

A friend of mine that goes to the dispensaries gave me an 1/8th of some damn good weed they paid $11 for. That's $3 a gram. They consistently get ounces for around $70 of good weed. The 1/8th they gave me was on special and had a date that was a year old. That leads me to believe that some legal growers are just dumping what they have for whatever they can get and shutting down. I think we're still sitting on around a million pound surplus here in Oregon. And that's just flower. There's also an insane amount of concentrates sitting in surplus as well.

There's quite a bit of consolidation going on. Players with deep pockets that have operations in many states that have seed to sale networks. They don't need anyone else's weed because they control their own supply chain. Companies like CuraLeaf that operate in 23 states and cultivate their own product that they sell in their own dispensaries will control the majority of the market.

All the herb at the dispos is pretty average… looks insane and has minimal effects/flavor … not to mention some of it is really past it’s prime window of dankness…. The bomb bomb shit they charge over 3k for is the real deal… I went to a spot that had Hi-Chew and Rose Runtz for over 3k … hits like a choo choo train from hell…. It’s also non-PGR compared to the shit in the low to mid 2k range which is all juiced up … on the flip side I’ve seen units of smalls going for over $1300 of Lemon Cherry Gelatos that couldn’t touch that rose Runtz or Hi-chew with a 100’foot pole…‘bottom line is grown something unique and keep up with market trends….‘it’s picking up out here in SoCal

Nah but we're neighbors :bigjoint: Colorado elk hunt is on the bucket list so maybe I'll come for a visit soon. Swung through Greeley last time I went to Cheyenne but from what I've heard maybe I should have went to fort Collins. Maybe later this year.
Greeley sucks. I used to be an ICU nurse there. Be there in Spring when they open the silage pits. Trust me and cross I-25. Go to Ft Collins or Loveland.

I'm stuck visiting the dispensary until I can harvest my first grow; here in So Cal I've seen 'top-shelf' eights drop $15 in the last few months, with some rosin dropping $10 per gram. I'm seeing more and more 30-40% off sales for item with an expiration date in the next couple of months. I firmly believe there are simply too many choices in most of the dispensaries (how many variations of gummies can there be?!?). Haven't purchased off the BM in more than 20 years, so no insight there.

That goes for sure. Just need to wait and be patient. Bet some of it goes next week. You should risk hop ladent and go for some hype clones.
I just got over hops latent viroid and threw out years worth of genetics and all the hype cuts I had and started fresh. And the market moves fast here, hype cuts saturate quick. I found a few real nice cuts this run and have another pheno hunt set to finish up end of this month. I have found some very nice genetics. Better than the lumpys apple fritter and a lot of other hype cuts I had previously.

Yeah I’m sure it will move but I am still shutting down this room for a month or two until I get my moms big enough and see how things go with the market. I had a bunch of plants vegged ready to go, but half of them weren’t my keepers since I had to take clones so early I was guessing. Rooms this size are expensive to run, so I gotta make sure whatever I put in it is gonna be a hit. I’ll donate the plants I have now to some of patients I’m dropping so they can do outdoor. I have been up front with them about dropping them, I am gonna look for some more patients who will actually shop with me and prefer quality for a decent price over super cheap boof from the store.

It's ironic that Appalachia is maybe the last stronghold.
I knew I should have stayed trapping, lol.

And I talked to a guy last night that convinced me to run it and turn it all into rosin. He assures me it will be a hit. Kinda of a scary venture washing that much and having no idea on returns. If it was all my keepers I’d be more confident of yield.

I feel your pain. You must live in a county that has dispensaries, which doesn't help. We don't have any dispensaries in our county, which helps out. I've been in the BM for longer than I can remember, and never wanted to deal with the state and the METRC system, and since the crash, I had a LOT of flower sitting from last years outdoor run. Wife wasn't exactly "happy" but I wasn't losing any money, still have a stable of old customers who don't want to drive 75+ miles for smoke. I decided to wash last years run and made hash from all the flower I had, didn't take long to move it all. Now, all I get are calls for hash, they don't even want flower. My brother will make a trip from Traverse City about once a month to grab some, since he picked up his 1st batch of hash, that's all he wants too. Rolling with what the market wants seems to be the way to go since the market in Michigan has so much flower around its pathetic.

Black market is in full swing in California. Idk about other states. But all the people who refuse the tax are just opening stores. With out a license. Making bank from what I see.
and what’s funny is I see them get shut down. Raids. But they just open back up the following day. Same people, same location. Same fucking weed. Makes me fucking think about what I’m doing?

I'm here in FL, and we have only medical so far. The big Corp. guys will try to keep it there for as
long as the can, so they can control things. It's illegal to grow your own, such BS. Fuck um. They
are not even getting the prices at the dispensaries that the black market was getting before. If they
go full legal the market will be toast, but at least the big boys will go down in flames. If the Feds open
up interstate sales, the shit will really hit the fan. Smoke um if ya got them.

I'm just an MMJ card holder in Oklahoma that lives on a farm. With all the cards in our family we have sort of lost our taste for smoking. I'm great grandpa and can't belive the size of our "clan". Between all of us we don't burn more than a couple onces a month.

We like HASH! We usually make edibles and RSO. We prefur outdoor grown for the same reason we like our vegis grown in the in soil under the sun. That's where God grows His.

I'm not sure about this, but I was told by a grower that a new law allows the grower to produce Bubble Hash.

This is why the market is what it is, the ability to illegally sell to the legal market leaves a huge gap that cant be made up legally.

As far as I know no retail source to date has ever sold only the very very best...a broker who searches the entire state and then sells just the best. They all sell everything, to reach the entire market, instead of speicializing in quality. Like a butcher or liquor store, full range of options.

The only way to have a premium market is to only sell the premium and take the consumer out of a price driven market. Even in CA I am not hearing of this. I see brands being made for cultivation i.e. Seth Rogan but that is a brand based upon fame and not built on quality. I have never seen a single post about how good his bud is, for example.

The ability for most people in legal states to grow their own makes enforcement of legal vs illegal grow ops almost impossible...leaving the BM players to scoop.up profit at retail. .

Bro. It’s insane how many place just “open” up. And you clearly know it’s not a legal rout. Buds is not pre packaged, usually really fresh, smells like skunk/classic ogs. And set up in an old smoke shop or gas station. It’s dead ass obvious. But like I just. It’s fresh, usually the grower is on site. And the set weight is never on dot. Kinda hard to NOT shop there. Oh. And no tax. At all. And they don’t expect a fucking tip

Wow! I have not been to one at least knowingly...your stories and info are great OG!

What happens to the people when the bust comes? Are the same people back selling the next day? I have no idea what enforcement CA has these days.

It used to be about the cartels growing in the forests I haven't been up to date since then. I like legal but kind of miss the days when something from Humboldt simply meant AWESOME and nobody dared go into those hills without knowing the people!
