is there a reason why shrooms would grow from the bottom edge of the cakes?

the first boomers came and they seem to be more prevalent around the bottom lips of the jar cakes... i know my conditions arent right to begin with because this is a i d g a fuck show me what a boomer is grow, but any reason why this might be?

How well do you light block the sides and bottom?
Pins are typically (but not always) triggered by light.

It's common for boomers to grow from the bottom of the cake. That's fine, as stated it's from the extra moisture there etc. and they work just as well as the ones on top of the cakes.:smile:

Did you double-end case? That's putting moist vermiculite both under and on top of the birthed cakes. It helps a lot. Just keep the top well misted.

You can add the extra verm layer any time. If there are already pins/shrooms on the top you can wait until the first flush is done.
