Is This a Good or Bad Idea?

I noticed the air pump i use to aerate my DWC buckets has a 3/8" valve on the intake. So i decided to run a hose from the intake to outside, so i can pull in fresh air through the pump and up through the airstones. I didn't have a ton of fresh air coming into my grow space before this, so i figured this might be a good idea. Thoughts?

And before anyone asks, i used a really fine mesh to cover the end of the intake hose outside, but no filter other than that.

I'm kinda thinking along the same lines for when winter comes(my air pump produces a lot of heat).

Just make sure the open end is shielded/oriented to keep water and crap out.

I thought about that same thing and I decided against it because it might reduce the amount of air that would move through the pump...imo

If you did do it I would use a larger hose and reduce down to the size of the pump at the pump....If you had to breath through a straw and then try a longer straw it might be harder to breath through....but the bigger hose might be fine....just a thought....

^^^^ this .... Also, could you get any sort of duct work to the outside? I only ask because my favorite closet is in my basement and I ran 6" duct to the outside and put a small can fan in my room sucking the outside air in,it made a huge improvement!( no co2) I also dwc.. I honestly don't think running outdoor air to the stones would make a big difference, but I'm no genius..:dunce:

I have always thought about; what if you were to get one of those little refrigerators and keep all your air pumps in there. This would in theory allow the water to stay at a cooler temp. But with it being air tight I am not sure it would work. Just thought id share.
