is this a problem?

ok well i had a really crappy light on my plant for its first month of life and it did ok but i recently got some cfls for it and only 2 are on it right now but since i put them on it all of my fan leaves have fallen off and i just have alot of new growth coming out the main stems but no big fan leaves. what is happening? oh and it almost looks like preflowers to me more than new fan leaves.. please any opinions would be great.

how did they look before they fell? did they wither and then fall or did they fall off even though they still looked healthy?

yeah dude they dried the fuck up and shit and just fell off. but idk see i topped it and thats when it pretty much started. but idk maybe its just because of the bush on top of it now its putting more energy in the top leaves and stuff or something.. but i havent heard of the fan leaves all just fallin off and shit and the plant didnt die.

What size CFL's

one 42 watt 6500k daylight and a 23 watt 2700k but it doesnt really matter about the cfls because the light before was a damn incandescent light and it didnt make it do it.. but i mean since i grew it so long under a weak light like that its only like 2 feet and a few inches and its been alive for a little over 2 months now. it looks like it wants to flower or somethin to me because all the new growth looks like preflowers to me but its been under 18/6 its whole life. just bagseed to just to let u know its not a auto-flower

ok so no one else had any idea of whats happening? no one else has had this happen to their plant before? i see views but no replies..

do your nutes suck as much as your earlier lighting?

never seen this happen before but i doubt it is related to the lights.

throw them into flowering(12/12) and blast them with 2tbl /gallon growbig. make sure your lighting is correct for the size of the room. Dont over do attention. Let them do there thing. Learn from expierence. IT takes time. Enjoy your yield. Start a new batch and apply what you learned.

Hey, the reason you're getting no responses is because you have no pics. Get a camera, even if it's a celly, and put up a few pics. A little effort will get you a lot more help.

thanks bro. well i just actually started to use nutes as of like 2 weeks ago maybe? idk im just usin some stuff i actually found around.. im usin this peters all purpose plant food with 20-20-20 in it right now with the veg. and im gonna use this MG all purpose plant food 15-30-15 whenever i put her into flowering. hopefully i can go get some extra blooming nutes and stuff for better buds. and sam do u think my plants tryin to start flowering by itself?

oh yeah ceestyle i kno man. as of right now i dont have any type of digital camera or anything to take a picture of it. whenever i find one i will. but try to picture what im saying its not that hard. all my fan leaves are gone. alot of small lookin leaves coming out the main stem all new growth. (looks like preflowers to me imo) and i mean could it be because ive topped it twice? all of the leaves up on my top bush are all sexy as hell

did the fan leaves yellow and fall off? and it happened right after you put the CFLs on it? do you have the CFLs really close?

yeah they pretty much looked like they dried up and were done. naturally fell. but i have the 6500k cfl above the top of the plant with about 1 1/2" to 2" away from the top. and the 2700k is down in the middle of the plant same distance away pretty much maybe just a little further away. didnt really seem like the lights burned it or anything.

yes, but if all you had on it was incandescent before that, they were not used to it. New growth will come out much more hardy than the old stuff, which was used to the weaker light. The same thing happens when transplanting clones, especially outdoors.

Just let 'em grow and you should be fine. If newer growth shows problems, then you can worry.

cool. well i mean i haven't really been worried because the new growth looks 20 times better than what fell off so idk. it just looked like it hit a different stage of life or somethin u kno? i really appreciate ur help to man +rep. so do u have any suggestions about the type of nutes im using on it? i am almost clueless when it comes to nutes and which of what i need lol.

most anything you find at a regular garden store will not be great. the biggest problem is often that they don't have Magnesium, which MJ needs a good amount of.

I would spend the fifteen dollars or so to get a quart of something like botanicare pro grow or some grow big. Something made for MJ will save you a lot of headaches when it comes to deficiencies.

What kind of soil are you in?

hell yeah well i mean this shit does have magnesium in it. is it usually not enough? where would i find grow big at? i dont really kno where my local hydro shop is either. oh but im just in some MG 20-20-20 right now i didnt really kno the best thing to grab at the time this is still my first plant

how big is your plant now? how long has it been in the soil?

almost 2 and a half feet now its been in the same soil for about a month and a half
