IS this NORMAL? PH RO WATER LUCAS FORMULA

3 Quick Questions

1). I use RO water and when it is tested immediately the PH is 5.0, however if I let it sit over night or a couple days the PH would be 6.0

Is this normal?

2). I use General Hydroponics PH UP/DOWN when using the Lucas Formula at about half strength(4-8 ) it drops my RO water and I only need about 10 drops of PH up to get it to 6.0.
When using full strength(8-16) It drops my RO water very low and I need about 40 drops of PH up to get to 6.0

Is this normal?

3). I heard when using RO water you always need to add CALMAG on none feeding days(feed, water, feed, water) but on feeding days are not needing since Lucas formula does the job

True or False?
Thanks guys

There must be some kind of reaction or off gassing that is causing the change in PH overnight.

So the salts from the GH solutions have a high ph; have you made any PPM measurements after you mix your formula?
The PH UP/DOWN you have, have stabilizers or buffers in them. I've found that they cause weird ph fluctuations when mixing, or over-mixing but luckily I've been able to get a great ph without up or down.

lucas, I don't think has a good cal mag.
And really it's more simple than a good feed program; lookup fatman.

Thanks for the reply. I have looked into the Lucas very hard before I started and I find that the majority has been very successful rate with great results.

I believe my plants are showing a nutrient deficiency now after having a nute burn (because I fed it with 3 straight waterings instead of feed, water, feed, water, etc.) I flushed it with tap water then fed it with a weak lucas formula 0-4-8, the leaves then started to fade from light green to yellow which i believe is a nute def. I have been only using 0-4-8 but now have switched to 0-8-16 since they are now under HPS and showing light green to yellowing starting from the tip. (nutrient def?)

if it's the bottom leaves first then likely a nitrogen def. and I think the lucas could actually use more nitrogen as micro doesn't really supply enough! and it should be 2 parts micro 1 part bloom for veg; that atleast its closer to a 4-1-2 or something like that.

Yes the bottom leaves yellow first then the top leaves are slowly fading from light green to yellow.

Def not a nute burn since I had a nute burn a couple weeks ago

that's nitrogen buddy

the lucas formula isn't a good formula; it's just easy.

fatman said to even do 2 parts micro 1 part bloom.
