Is this root rot? Or another deficiency

Week 2 of veg. I got about 200w of light. Original soil was straight up MG but once I repotted I mixed about 35-40% perlite and 60-65% MG. I water my plant based on soil test meter. I also usually water at a 6.2-6.8 ph.

Now my question is, Is it doomed? It’s getting progressively worse and I’ve done as much research as possible. Sometimes 4-5 hours a day but I didn’t find anything until this forum. Sucks that my first post is the typical “help me” but I’m out of options. Can someone help me figure out what the issue is?

The new growth looks ok, so I would give them some time...Transplanting may have shocked them.

Shouldn't need anything but water at this point with MG soil. But they do kind of look like they need some food. Is that the MG with fertilizer??

I don't think there's anything wrong with using MG, especially for a starter potting soil. I've used it before with good results...and I have made my own "super soil" that did more damage than MG ever could.

So what kind of water are you using?

If your not going to use cannabis specific medium and nutes, well, you get what u have now

Good luck, these aren't tomatoes
That was obviously my point of posting here. I’m obviously a new grower and wanted to get expert help as to what I was doing wrong. Didn’t know about “Cannabis specific mediums and mutes” They obviously aren’t tomatoes. You really don’t have to be a jerk about it. If you didn’t want to give some decent advice you didn’t have to post. Not really looking for negativity

Negativity goes with learning

Patting you on the back because you did not research on growing weed, well, how does that help you

Get some real medium like promix hp, and actual nutrients made for cannabis

At this point you can still save them

Regular tap. I’m “ph-ing” it down from 7.7 to at least 6.4-6.8

See you learned something with my post didn't you

Your welcome

Now try to save your plant. MG is not for begging growing of weed, yes some use it, but not for 1st grow

Get something without nutrients, get some liquid nutes, transplant them, and they will survive

Top new growth looks hungry for correct nutes. If left as is it will grow out like the other leaves

No one’s asking for a pay on the back. There is obviously something wrong and I’m trying to get assistance to fix that. Saying “Get some real medium like promix hp, and actual nutrients made for cannabis” does no good in a thread asking for assistance. What was the point of you even saying that. In no way does that assist in diagnosing a problem and helping someone fix it. Scolding does no help when you aren’t even providing helpful information

even then what nutes it’s like a million options. How do I know which to use.

UI, many of those potting soils come with nutes in them, usually enough for several months so adding any extra is asking for trouble. Wait a few months before adding any supplemental nutrients. Many growers use MG and are just fine. Canna-specific nutes are nice but by NO means necessary. Good luck and don't let the criticisms bother you.

Search home depot it lowes for Pro-mix HP or Sunshine mix #4

Then a real easy nute is Mega Crop, buy direct from their site, greanleaf

I use these two together and us very very easy and works great

When I said hydro I meant a store to buy soil and nutes

While I totally agree that MG isn't the best to grow weed in, it's fine for Veg stage...it definitely won't get you through flower w/o problems though. I used it to veg plants in last winter and it worked like a charm...super healthy plants.

There's something else going on I'd bet...not sure what though. My best guess is they got over fertilized from adding the root n grow and are experiencing some lockout....water them with plain ph'd water for a few weeks and see what happens.
