right, first time grow, i've got a smallish closet ( ill post the dimensions later) and im planning on growing a stealth grow. My plan is to line the walls with mylar set up a 400 watt hps/mh ballast. I am planning to grow with soil but am unsure on a couple of things... Firstly which strain i should go for, it's a punch up between white widow, northern lights or an auto strain like lowryder 2...
secondly i ave no access to outside air so the unit would have to be completely internal... for the odour control i planned to use an extractor fan with a carbon filter attached..? would this be sufficient ( ill post dimensions later but supposing the carbon filter can de-odourise the space, will a carbon filter alone be enough to eliminate those odours..:L and lastly air intake, i planned to have an intake fan bringing in air from the room, the air will then be circulated and then deodourised by thecarbon filter and spatback into the room.... any advice/criticism/tips/alternatives would be amazing!!!:bigjoint: thanks

first off you might have a problem with the heat depending on the size of the room. Here is what I have, I put a home made carbon filter on one side of my light (6" flange) then on the other side i have flex ducting leading up to the exhaust fan. This way it actually pulls air through the filter and then out of the room. I have a passive intake because if your pushing air out it will come in, no need to pull it in. My first grow was WW and Northern Soul, which is a variation of northern lights. I liked both a lot, however my next grow will be super lemon haze. It's won multiple awards and is inexpensive. Also i would buy some good dirt like ocean forest. My plants are growing SO SO good in it. just use water for the first 6 weeks then start adding nutes. After 6 weeks you will be flowering anyway so you only need some flowering nutes. I'm planning on adding some more pics in my second grow thread soon if you want to check it out.

Your on the right track just an FYI stay away from the auto flowering, everyone that I have disscussed using those type of plants has regretted using them. If you use any thing try going with the northern lights, its an easy going strain of plant.

their is nothing wrong with autos.I'm on my 3rd auto strain now.their perfect for ppl like me who does micro pc grows.check out my album.but I do agree autos cannot compete with regular strains.try a heavy yielding strain like ak47.

I agree:

1. northern lights
2. heat will be a problem (you will need high AC in the outer room)

A 400w bulb will put off a good amount of heat, so i would recommend a cool tube or some kind of cooled shade. can you have a window open in this room? it would definately cook your room unless you can vent it into the rest of your house like i do
