Someone else?
if you're a little behind the times.... since before 2103, Under the guise of "better targeted advertising" Running apps listen to every word. How else would "Alexis" "Go google" and other assistants be able to respond? The language recognition database is way too massive to run on any phone. Don't forget. The internet backs up EVERY single 1 and 0. So those conversations your smart watches catch are safely backed up on someone's servers for them to peruse at their whim. That's just how the internet, works.

I guess if you enable recording permissions for apps that could happen. If someone is going through my data they’re going to be extremely bored.

That's true, but nowadays it's not even necessary. I don't have any apps such as google assistant or alexa.

It happened to me many times, that I talk about something very specific, like a place or a brand or an object in particular, and a couple of days later I get Ads. on my phone of that very same thing.

Only via randomly talking. Never actually searched for any of those things.

Smart TVs are too smart you could say huh? We just use Etch a Sketch in the house to get around it. No pesky guv no mint spies gonna know my bidness:bigjoint: It's creepy how often that happens for real though. I disabled microphone permissions for just about everything on my phone possible and it did seem to cut down on them.

He did to ask "someone else". I personally stopped using apps period in '14 when i concluded they were listening. Can't even re-deactivate my old Facebook accounts they use to prop up their numbers because i won't give them my phone#. Only charging my phone once a week is a definite plus :)

What is hysterical about this statement is you are typing on the internet. You will absolutely get targeted adds from this. It's why every site uses cookies.

No matter how you use shit you are being tracked.

People need to actually review the permissions they are granting when they install apps on their phones.

Just an example. If you install the Shazam music discovery app from Apple available on Apple and Android platforms you are giving the following permissions.
