IDF commandos were either ordered to kill a good couple of civies or are a bunch trigger happy N'Yahoos who just love killing. The later is not synonymous with the term commando.

Two problems with this statement:

1. Find a reasonable cop
2. Maybe you have a point that Australian cops will use like force, but I doubt it. In Chicago, Obama's hometown, "you pull a crowbar, the cop pulls a gun".

That would happen in any American city. No cop is willing to take a broken arm deflecting a blow from a crowbar instead of KILLING the suspect. In cop lingo, broken arm > DEATH

I think it's an issue with their training, today, most cops are taught things similar to soldiers in war zones, every suspect is an enemy until proven innocent, shit like that. But I believe if cops used more common sense and better judgment, shit wouldn't be as bad as it is today. Even still, every precinct is in the business of getting funding, if your area barely has violent crime, chances are, you'll likely not be getting that extra bump in funding to pay for fancy shit like police helicopters or that 7th SWAT team van.. It's all a business.. A corrupt one at that..
