It's always the same...

I have grown many different strains over the last couple years...THC Bomb, Bubblegummer, El Aquimista, AK47, Bluedream, Pineapple Express, Hollands Hope...It never fails. Ive always had good stuff, but for some reason the smell, appearance, and tastes are almost always the same. I grow under LED, dry by hanging, and cure in paper bags then move to jars after a week. I always full flush my plants for 2 weeks prior to cutting. Am I doing something wrong, I have never had buds of a different color, smell, or taste. It's always good, but nothing different between the strains...

Try to find some good genitics , slow dry the whole plant , cure for at least a few weeks , and I cannot comment on the LED , I use old fashioned HID for flowering, o yea and try not flushing , this last harvest I did I didn't flush at all and it has some of the best taste I've done

Maybe you're washing all the rosin out of the crystals so all your strands look and taste the same? Have you tried a reverse flush?

Any pictures? Are you sure you have different seeds? I'm a neophyte and I don't know if all the plants I've grown are really what they claim to be, but they've all been distinctive. Appearance, growth, taste and effect have all been unique among purported strains.

MY SIL grows plants like you describe, they all taste and look the same, even when I give him the seeds. smh
He grows outdoors guerrilla style, so that may be the difference. But you grow indoors so I give up.

You're harvesting to early, try to keep the plant as healthy as possible up until harvest to ensure plant does finish. I had the same problem when I first started out. A healthy plant if you let it fully ripe should smell as good as it did while growing as soon as its dry, even without a cure. If you harvest early it'll smell the same no matter what and curing will not help

Also if you're growing in soil, I wouldn't even bother flushing because all you're doing is leeching nutrients the plant needs to finish.

I have always been told to flush, if you don't the smoke will taste like nutrients...Also I use a microscope to determine when the plant gets cut, so I know I am not harvesting too soon, usually after all 80-90% of the trichromes turn from cloudy to clear, 90% of the hairs will usually be brown instead of white at this point...They usually hang in the closet for about 3-5 days, then go in the paper bag for a few more days, then they go into jars for 2-3 weeks, being burped every other day to every third day depending...Also I have never had a plant get yellow leaves or any discoloration during flowering, not even at harvest. I was always under the impression that the plants should have yellow leaves at the end because it is using up all the stored nutrients in them...I always buy my seeds from reputable banks so I know I am getting different strains. I had a buddy grow one of my seeds for me a couple of times, while I grew the same strain. Both his and mine got the same "high" when they were smoked, but his looked, smelled, and tasted 100 times better than mine and he fast dries his in like 3 hours with a machine that he built, kind of like a dehydrator...

I guess flushing it a bad word to use... Basically I stop using nutrients the last couple weeks and just water with plain water, which is usually like 4-5 waterings without nutes...

I maintain my stance.
All the varying genetics have traits that are pretty easy to distinguish.
For example i grew only mexican genetics for about a decade.
There are roughly 6 real strains coming out of central america. The original sour strains are Mexican and can be garlicy berry like. Will flower about 16 weeks with good yields and chunky spongey buds of stank.
you can find a good chemdawg or whatever that's pretty damn close.
They have a very specific bud and leaf structure.
A real experienced grower especially dealing with that region can tell you what the strain will be like just by appearence..in the same way dna's cannalope haze looks like a sweet lowland with moderate amounts of cbd and can range from cucumber to honey suckle and marshmellow
Also take the structure of master kush and the white. Same applies.

If yiuve grown the strains you mentioned and didnt notice a difference in appearance or smell something is really off.

And it has nothing to do with harvesting early. I make my best hash off premature plants. But you also say youve never had leaves yellow, which may be possible on some strains i dont know. But on most, especially sativas like the blue dream you mentioned, even if N toxed leaves will still yellow....oh and never flush, it does nothing

Not everyone can tell when they are drinking fine wine. It's a good chance you just don't have the eye and taste to tell your strains apart... I'm not downing you just it might not be your thing.... I know people who have been smoking for years they don't taste the difference between blue dream and lemonade....shit I the same way with style. I can't dress for shit

The plants look very different while they are growing. Just all look, smell, and taste the same after they are dried and cured...

I agree that you're harvesting too soon. Next harvest, chop half of each of 2 different plants when you normally chop, but leave the other half of each another 2 - 4 weeks before harvesting. If they still look, smell and taste the same, it could be you.

"Also I use a microscope to determine when the plant gets cut, so I know I am not harvesting too soon, usually after all 80-90% of the trichromes turn from cloudy to clear, 90% of the hairs will usually be brown instead of white at this point" - 2 problems here. Trichomes turn from clear to cloudy, not the other way around. If you're cutting with 90% clear, you're cutting way too early. Also, if you still have white hairs when harvesting, it's another good indicator you're cutting too early.

Ok, I'll try that... I think 2-4 weeks might be a bit much, when I am harvesting an 8 week flowering plant already at 10 weeks though...

Yeah sorry about that, I got the cloudy and the clear backwards...I was always told that you should harvest when 75% of the hairs turn brown, I guess I will have to start waiting until all are brown...
