So I'm itching to place another order of beans and was wondering if anyone has any thoughts/opinions on the strain "It's Mendo Dope" vs "It's Mendo Dope IBL". I just can't decide which to grab lol, thx.

never heard of the strain/breeder but if they are legit here's how I would decide.

At least in theory the IBL is going to be more consistent and hopefully more stable. Better chance of plants being homogenous so if you want to plant 6 plants from seed they should all be relatively similar with maybe just a few phenos w slight differences.

the normal line depending on what F gen they are at could have wider variation in phenos and potentially show some recessive traits from the original parents. if you are hunting and hoping to find something unique/special this would be the way to go. basically more phenos to choose from. but also higher chance some of the phenos are not as good, and also they may have different feeding requirements, growth patterns etc.

Yea, I've honestly never tried anything from this breeder before but the strain looks to be based on TGA genetics (Locomotion x Querkle), which I've historically had good results from, so that's why I took interest in this strain. I also just found the breeder's website, which has a better description of the strain:

i'd hit them up on IG and ask for their suggestion. seem small enough that they will hopefully reply. they are followed by a lot of big names so they seem legit. also based on the fact that they are also musicians and collaborate with a lot of reggae artists i am going to have to give them the thumbs up :)

10 bucks for a reg seed seems pretty steep to me. Especially if they're not homozygous.

They are two musician/growre/breeders. So far as I know they're legit. they had some involvement with subcool, which is presumably why they've based this on two of his lines.

Thats not a IBL.... thats an f2
hmm an F2 would be if they crossed 2 F1s no?

if they crossed an F(x) and bx it to the original clone mom they found I guess its technically an IBL although i thought it was common that the breeder would have done multiple generations (something like take to F4 then bx1 then take that to F4 and bx2 back to original) before it was considered a true IBL? I am going to guess based on that description that its an F1 pheno from a cross that they crossed back to the original mom? probably some cool genetics but no clue where that lands in the stability or predictability curve.

If they're F2's you're going to have significant variation.
