I have a 150w hps my grow can is 16x20x36.

The ballast is inside the cabinet right next to the light and I have passive intakes plus 2 120mm pc fans pulling air out from directly behind the bulb.

Also 2 80mm fans blowing air from the floor of the cabinet straight up towards the bulb.

My room temperature is 75 degrees. Im luck if the cabinet will go under 90.

Ive tried to change things around but nothing sems to bring it down its so damn hot in there.

Not sure what I can do now, gonna have to buy a inline fan or and cool tube but funds are just a bit tight.

I suppose i could take out the ballast, the whole reason its in there is to keep noises down to be honest.

yes what undianwarrior says. remove the ballast. then drill a hole and run longer wires to the bulb. seriously the further away from the grow the better. the ballast creates serious heat you wouldnt lift it with your hand if it was on twelve hours. try and see if you wish. this will definately bring down the temp.

Do you have any air circulating in there besides the ones under the plants? Try another fan blowing around in there.
