I don't grow hydro so can't advise you there. As far as height, best thing to do would be to FIM them NOW that will cause side branch growth and it'll make the plants short and bushy - after the new tops heal and start growing and the plant starts growing vertically again THEN put it into 12/12. You'll have to make a best guess on height but FIMing or topping would definitely help there and get you more yield for the 3 plants (more branches = more bud sites). If you're not familiar with scrogging, you might want to look into that. Only reason not to do that is for a strain that does not respond well to topping - can't tell you whether that's yours or not but most strains respond well. Your plants don't look like single cola plants to me so far so guessing they are fine for FIMing/topping - there is a good sticky article on FIMing in the advanced grow topics area. it is not hard.

Ok im considering taking your advice, but do you think i will run into root problems with the tray?

what about height? i only have about 90cm to work with in height from the current height of the plants now.
Your look fine with those two plants in that tray...
What size is it?

And yah man, 1oz each maybe a lil more....
What size tent is that...
Your only utilizing about 20% of that tents workable space.... And that light is capable of so much more... You got a carbon filter too... Damn..

Whats 90cm - 3ft?

Plants grow on avg Twice their size once flipped.. Those plants on the other hand don't look like they'll grow that much in the height department..
If you go back to Veg ittl most likely only grow a lil Higher and more bushier...
These methods can also increase your yield.

FIMing...
TOPing...
(/\...Links..)

*LoL... Sense While i Busy gettin the Links, you beat me to it....

WTF IS FIMING?
i know what topping is through.. im currently looking into that.. my main concern is ROOT PROBLEMS or having the plants tangle roots etc if i veg them longer..

yes 3 feet is 80cm (width) and about 2 feet length. and 4 inches deep.. TOO SMALL?.. if not ill put them back into veg. they are sitting in 6''; rockwool cubes surrounded by hydroton.

Guys..

Cut the shit.. long story short.. i popped my babies into flower mode 24hours ago; reason?

im worried they are getting too big for the tray; can an expert or an experienced grower please help me out?.. im thinking about putting them back into VEG as long as there is no issues switching back.. again its been 24hours since i put them on flower mode.

the size of the tray is like.. 80CM WIDE, 60 CM LONG AND 10CM DEEP <--- holding two plants.

for the AMERICANS - its 3 ft in width, 2ft in length and 4 inches in depth. (the tray).. plants are sitting in 6' rockwol cubes surrounded by hydroton.

is the tray size fine for the two plants?.. they are 4 weeks old.. but was thinking about vegging for another three weeks then flower them so i dont loose out on yield etc.

So based on my video and how it looks, will i run into root problems if i veg a little longer? what about heights?..

CAN I AFFORD TO VEG THEM LONGER? AND AVOID POTENTIAL ROOT PROBLEMS WITH THE TWO PLANTS IN THE TRAY?

deza, don't FIM. FIM stands for "Fuck! I missed!", it's a type of topping. Just go ahead and top like they did in that thread I gave you a link to. FIM'ing is -very- inefficient compared to Uncle Ben's topping technique.

EDIT/UPDATE: Don't swap 'em back to veg -unless- you top them. If you go ahead and top them @ the second node for four main colas each, go ahead and swap back to veg, you shouldn't really have any trouble with that. If you aren't topping or anything like that, just keep going with flower.

I have a 3 headed monster I FIMed all 3 tops. And Fk I missed 2 of them, one came out with 3x new tops, other two are growing normal again just thicker

So now I have a 5 headed monster

Honestly, with how dense they are, and how shallow his tray is, I think he should just go ahead with flowering. Don't worry about techniques like fimming and topping this time around. Do that when you're a bit more confident in your growing skills.

I JUST RANG THE HYDRO SHOP I BOUGHT my equipment from.. he said that plants in the wild always tie roots into each other thats not a problem and i can afford to veg them an extra two/three weeks at most.. and all i have to do is make sure the 'drainage' from the tray back into the resivour doesnt get filled with roots thats all.. and if it does i can cut the roots around the drain only.

so this means i can veg longer..!!

true or not?

I would keep them in bloom if you've already switched the schedule. I am sure you will like how much they stretch the first few wks.

& yes, do not let drains clog w/ roots. you can cut them if it is that bad. I would just move them.

I agree..
4 inches deep is not a lot of space, but the 3 feet by 2 feet will save you...

Thats a link to a thread by E$KOB@R (escobar), who breeds for SannieShop, i.e. Chocolate Rain, Cheeseberry Haze, etc...
He puts 3-4 Clones in a single 30liter tub (about 7.5 Gal ), a lot deeper but not nearly as wide as your tray...
He uses Mapito Flake (rockwool pieces) and on occasion soil though rarely....

I gave him those links for both FIM and TOP techniques so he can learn about both and see the benefits they each have in certain situations...

Once this grow finishes, you can fill up the Entire tent, and use it to its full potential....

From E$KO'S tent...

i will give my best straight forward advice - you have no more room for roots at this point and ya the store guy is right its ok if they get a little bound to eachother but the problem is you wont gain alot of size vegging another 2 weeks, really you will get the same amount of growth as you will anyway in the first 2 weeks of flowering and then you will be stopped by root size so that extra two weeks of growth are going to be attained either way, the question your really need to ask here is not to bud or not to bud yet, but to bud or not to bud and repot ...you have two logical choices put them back on veg asap and replant them, if you arent going to replant any which way then your better off just budding them out now....i might have been really confusing just now...

The plants in the pics on post #13 are mature plants - you could strat to flower them if you want.

You have planted them pretty close together - you are risking that one plant will dominate the other. I'd start flowering those plants in the pic asap, and hope for two good colas (in other words, I would not top or supercrop those plants). What good is more vegging going to accomplish???

They look really good and healthy.

I can only give you my ADMIRATION! They're looking green and healthy, seems like you're doing a pretty good job applying the theory in practice :D Sanatate!
