hm I was wondering if diy price would not be similar to that bonsai hero price. If I'd be saving like 30eu, then I'd rather buy, but if you can get it all for 100eu, then I'd be really interested in peaking to your list :)
That's exactly what I was thinking. So far my lists have been coming to prices very close to that of the Hans Panel.

I'm talking about the Vero 18 LED DIY builds, I can't seem to find the diodes at as cheap a price as the other guys. I guess I'm starting to tilt towards the Hans... Even though the Vero 18s look promising....

Yeah that's the real issue. The startinf price. Plus if you aren't handy with all of the tools necessary. The Hans panel comes prefabbed and it comes with a nice warrenty I believe.
There is no shame in pre-fabbed, its what I have and it works just as well, its just less efficient than DIY. If you have a manufacturer that lists all the parts they use though, Onyx, A-51, Hans, Advanced, then you know what you are getting as well. I wouldn't have pointed you in the direction of anything not proven, and you will be happy for several harvest with any one you choose, and you will be able to eliminate your lack of powerful light as a factor in your grows. Hope that helps more than it confuses lol

Hans is the tht bonsai hero guy?

before going all leds I will need to do another investigation about those induction lights and their availability in EU. Pretty darn difficult to find any result, but i know there has to be some, i just need to figure proper keyword.

I have no problem with DIY, actually it appeals to me because I love building and creating stuff.
My only problem right now is the LED technicalities which I'm not still familiar with, and apart from that, the total cost of importing all the pieces separately is giving me price estimates that match the pre-fab ones.

So, just the tiny dilema.

On with the show.

As of now, the stretch can be officially announced as finished. I like that because now it's all bud action. On the other hand, I don't love it because I didn't veg enough to fill my screen...

Anyway, it's my first Diagonal Screen, so lessons learned. And to be truthful, this way the little 150 watter can work it's tiny wonder in a much more concentrated fashion. If I had a 100% full screen the outer buds wouldn't get nearly as many lumens as these babies are getting.

Also, I never would of thought I'd let myself get that bulb so close to my buds without worrying xD And what a difference it makes! even at these low W!

Just fed the beauties, and now I'm here just wishing I'd known about the DIY LED fixtures people are making these days. For the same wattage I could probably be pulling nearly double yields.

NEXT TIME! LEDS!

Right now, this is how things are looking in my small haven.

The Purple TrainWreck is a little behind on pistils as one would expect.
The Purple Haze is just going crazy with white goodness.
The Northern Lights is still beating all odds and made some lovely and stalky stretch towards the Bulb God.

From now on is when the goodness happens! So keep rooting for us!

Take care brothers and sisters.

Small update,

Things are moving along nicely. Flowers are getting hairier. Still about 40 days to go.

Feeding 1200ppm at 6,2 PH.

Added a 36w blue cfl to the most "shaded" zone of the grow and the nodes seem to enjoy it.

042.jpg 043.jpg

Been diving a lot into the COB LED lighting scene, and I'm more and more impressed as the days go by.
I feel like I'm in the dark ages with this bulb. It even looks dimmer to the eye than the first few times I ran it.

Can't wait to get my hands on some top shelf LED hardware.

Hoping for a LED grow next time around.:hump:

anyway, on with the show.

haha me too! (and I should haha)

I should probably name him though. Jaded Owl is too impersonal. Jadeye sounds cool. Almost like Jedi haha

I just convinced myself =P

Now we need to make it official!

Today has been a slow day altogether, stayed home studying for tomorrow's test.
But being around the house makes me be CONSTANTLY around the garden =P

Guess who chose to come and live in our Haven...

This little guy!

So that was nice little break from Modulation & Simulation of Natural Systems Programming... =P And it sort of relates xD

Happiness is, inedeed, in the little things.

Back to work.

Hey there, thank you! It's a tiny setup, but it fulfils my needs, and then some. =P Can't wait to upgrade though.

And no, it's not a V scrog, it's a Diagonal scrog, it just didn't fill out as well as I'd like. Even though it is a D scrog, It's behaving almost like a V scrog because the left side streched so much that it makes the V/Stadium look =P

Anyway here's a reference for curious scroggers: (it's all about surface area)

Fresh update.

Just watered the gals. Everyone looks great in there. The Purple Trainwreck is the only one to not show many love crystals yet, but I give it a few more days to start mass producing =P

Every time I look at that HPS I feel like I'm fighting a losing war =P I NEED TO CHANGE OVER TO COB LEDs! Been searching around and have found some awesome grows from them.

Even only 2 Vero 29s would do better than this 150w HPS... Gotta change over.

On the light subject I took my UVB light out again. The UVB was making the tiny buds mature too fast without bulking up first, so I put the white CFL in there again. I'll use the UVB for THC boosting on the last few weeks before harvest.

Anyway, here's how everything looks as of now.

Hope you enjoyed.

Have the rest of a great Sunday!

Some fine looking ladies you got there... Man I also need to get that UVB. Read a lot of about it. One of the 'toget' things in order to properly dial in my environment. Never tried searching for it in stores though.. You bought that locally or somewhere europe wise?
I think I'll stay with CMH through the winter, since the heat it generates started to benefit plants on those cold days.
Cheers

Thanks brotha'

I got the UVB bulb from a pet shop. It's a reptile bulb. 20w. And believe me, it makes a diference. I put it near my early buds and they started browning the hairs within 2 days. Something that isn't happening anywhere else inside my tent yet =P

So yeah, I took it out for now. But it will go inside the tent once more when I'm 2 weeks to harvest. For boosting THC levels.

150 W is not enough juice to decide on HPS. I have a good quality
600W bulb that manages to work pretty well. Just keep moving up,
and use the lower power stuff for things like male-boxes and nurseries.

Great work J
