Greetings fellow Aerogrowers.
I am a semi-experienced (female) grower, But my past grows were all organinc soil outdoors. I received the Aerogarden space saver 6 for christmas 08.
I immediately ordered the mastergrowers deluxe kit.
I placed the AG unit in a plastic cabinet, and made some holes for air flow.
I also added a small fan.

Note: Order the master growers kit first! It comes with a lot of sponges, baskets and nutes. The baskets that are supplied breakapart for easy replanting.

For my first grow experiment I used bagseed, which as far as I can tell is a hybrid sativa/indica.
Seeds were germed in paper towels until taproot sprouted.
Seeds were placed (taproot down) in the grow sponges under the salad greens setting. After a few days some of the taproots were pulling out, so I cut all the way through the sponge and replaced the seedling with taproot about 1/8 of an inch down into the sponge.
Note:You must make sure that the seed is far enough down in the sponge otherwise it will push out.
Note: As per the guides and reading all the previous posts, I also bought a small 3" airstone at petsmart and the figure 8 cord to attach to lights.
3 Seedlings were given 24 hrs of light.
Nutes were added as per the AG directions.
After 4 weeks, I noticed the largest of 3 plants looked like it had female organs. I was right. The other 2 still were not showing. Usually the males will show first and be bigger and more robust. Not so this time. Probably due to bad genetics.
Anyway after 6 weeks I switched to 12/12. After a week still no indicators on the other 2 but they both looked like males to me due to the space between nodes and less side branching. I decided to cut 1, I cut it out at the roots and left the roots in the AG because it's too hard to detangle them.
Also at this point I took 3 clones from my female. Clones were placed in water on a windowsill.
Then I found out I had to go away for 10 days!!!!!!!! I was faced with a big dilema. I had no one that I could trust to look after the babies.
So I placed the clones in the AG filled it up to the top with water and split.
After 7 days I got a friend to fill the resv. and he said everything looked fine.
I got home 3 days later to an almost empty resv. and my female was drooping, the other one was indeed a male and the clones were barely alive.
I immediately took the clones out, they had rooted! I replanted them in soil and started them on 24hrs under a compact floro. 2 survived and are thriving today.
My female recovered and has the whole AG to herself, right now she is in her 4th week of flowering.
I detached the light and suspended it above the unit. She is about 24 inches tall. I also added another 24 watt Compact floro.
I am not expecting a big yield from her.
It was my intention from the beginning to get a female to make clones for a summer crop.
I have my 2 clones still under 24 hrs light and when the get big enough I am going to take clones from them and start them in the AG, then replant outside in the spring.

So looking back, my first experiment was a success. (so far)
In the future, I don't think I would use the AG for flowering, I think it is best used for clones......Unless you use lowryder or lowryder crosses.

Just harvested dried and cured my female. Flowered her for 8 weeks. I took a few samples and was happy with the results so I chopped her. She was sooo dank!! I miss her already!!! My mystery bagseed turned out to be very lemon citrusy catpiss like??? Def. a hybrid, mixed high, up yet relaxing.
Anyway from this first experiment I have 3 clones from her going in soil, 1 is 2 weeks into 12/12 and the other 2 are vegging. I plan on taking clones from these clones and starting them in the AG for experiment #2.

U really want pics? I'll post some, Seriously though, my set up is soooo ghetto I'd also be embarassed to show em but it works for me. I know I am a little paranoid, hell I am too afraid to order seeds!!!!!!! My plants are all unknown bagseed!! But I do like the genetics and it's easy to clone, so no complaints other than they want to grow bigger, but I keep them under wraps, ties and control flowering.

Anyway, to keep y'all updated on my Aerogarden Experiment #2:

I am still using the same clones from the original planting in Jan. After harvesting the 1 female I had 3 clones which were started in the AG and transplanted in fine organic soil. Clone #1 is a week or 2 away from harvesting I just gave her a flushing this weekend in the last 3 weeks she was fed only water and a little molasses. Clone #2 is 2 weeks into 12/12 and Clone #3 is now a clone mother and under 24 hrs lighting.
The Aerogarden is full of 6 clones. 2 are rooted and almost ready to be transplanted. So I've basically got myself set up on a revolving sysetm with the AG being used as a cloner.
More on my ghetto set up:
Flowering chamber is a rubbermaid storage box with 2 upright doors, in there I have the AG lights suspended at the top (aprox. 3 foot high). I have a fan and some holes for ventilation.
Vegging chamber is in a box under a table which is completely enclosed and hidden!!! In there is the AG unit under 2 24 watt compact floro desk lamps. Also in there is my clone mother.
I also take the potted plants outside for some sun when I can, so all of the potted plants are being supplemented by a few hours a day of sunlight which is good enough supplemental light (in my experience). It's been working out pretty well for me. It's not a lot of yield but I'm not doing it for profit. I'm just supplying myself with my own medicine. I suffer from IBS and it's the only thing that works for me!!!!!!!

Update
Just harvested clone#1! She was the first one transplanted in organic soil and flowered under the AG lights and supplemental sunlight! Again, not another big yield but fresh dank nonetheless!!!! I would have to say compared to the mother that was grown and flowered in the AG, the clone in soil was not as sweet tasting as the AG grown plant. There is something to be said for the AG nutes and growing aeroponically or hydroponically from start to finish. If I had the space, resources and skill I would like to try a full hydro grow. All of my experience comes from outdoor, organic soil based methods in the past and I've had great results so I'm gonna stick to that for now.
Anyway, clone #2 is 4 weeks into flowering and Clone #3 just started 12/12. I just took 3 more rooted clones out of the AG and transplanted in soil to start their vegging. The AG is full of 6 more cuttings. I've got myself set up to harvest 1 plant every 4 weeks. It's not the best system, but it works for me!
Like I said before the AG works great as a cloner!
