Alleged Jeffrey Epstein sex crime accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell tried to flee from FBI agents before arrest, prosecutors reveal

  • Federal prosecutors warned a judge that Ghislaine Maxwell, the British socialite charged with helping the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein feed his craving for underage girls, is likely to flee the United States if granted bail.
  • Prosecutors cited the millions of dollars that Maxwell has held in “dozens” of overseas bank accounts, her citizenship in France, and the fact that she tried to flee from FBI agents who arrested her earlier in July in a $1 million New Hampshire hideaway purchased under the name of a legal entity to hide the actual owner.
  • Epstein, a wealthy investor who was a former friend of President Donald Trump and Bill Clinton, died from what has been ruled a suicide in a Manhattan jail.

When FBI agents arrived at her home in rural Bradford on July 2, they breached the gate and then directed her private security guard to open the front door, the court papers say.
Through a window, the agents spotted Maxwell trying to flee.
“The agents saw the defendant ignore the direction to open the door and, instead, try to flee to another room in the house, quickly shutting a door behind her,” the court papers say.
The agents forced open the door and ultimately found Maxwell inside the house, according to the court filing.
As they were sweeping the house, they discovered a cellphone wrapped in tinfoil on top of a desk, the court papers say.

“To the extent the defendant now refuses to account for her ownership of or access to vast wealth, it is not because it does not exist — it is because she is attempting to hide it,” prosecutors wrote.

The agents forced open the door and ultimately found Maxwell inside the house, according to the court filing.

As they were sweeping the house, they discovered a cellphone wrapped in tinfoil on top of a desk, the court papers say.

Prosecutors described it as a “seemingly misguided effort to evade detection, not by the press or public, which of course would have no ability to trace her phone or intercept her communications, but by law enforcement.”

The court papers also noted that Maxwell had a private security team composed of former British military members and didn’t leave the home, relying on guards to go out to buy things with a credit card linked to a limited liability corporation set up to buy the 356-acre property.

“As these facts make plain, there should be no question that the defendant is skilled at living in hiding,” the court filing says.

Maxwell was charged in a six-count indictment alleging that she enticed minors, some as young as 14, who were abused by Epstein in the mid-1990s. A hearing is scheduled for Tuesday to decide whether Maxwell will be released from federal custody.

Her lawyers proposed that she be freed on a $5 million bond secured by six co-signers and property in the U.K. worth $3.75 million. Maxwell's attorneys argued that she posed no flight risk and is being scapegoated due to her past relationship with Epstein, who died by suicide last August while awaiting sex trafficking charges.

But prosecutors said Maxwell played an “essential role” in the sexual exploitation of young girls — and added that the victims have provided “detailed, credible” evidence of the alleged illegal conduct.

“At the heart of this case are brave women who are victims of serious crimes that demand justice,” the court filing says.
“The defendant’s motion wholly fails to appreciate the driving force behind this case: The defendant’s victims were sexually abused as minors as a direct result of Ghislaine Maxwell’s actions, and they have carried the trauma from these events for their entire adult liv

so it was recently reported that Donald banned Jeffrey from Mar-a-Lago based upon something that happened with a 15-year-old girl and Jeffrey..Donald was asked about and responded 'something like that'..now it was thought in 2004 their split came, Jeffrey and Donald were vying for the same piece of coveted property previously owned by Jeffrey's benefactor in Palm Beach- so it held sentimental value..the story goes Donald was vicious in out bidding and obtaining the property..it was called House of Friendship..it was said afterward, Donald made two phone calls to Jeffrey that day and Jeffrey was never again seen at Mar-a-Lago..

during that crazy time of underage girls, Ghislane Maxwell and Mar-a-Lago..the 1994-97 years?, Ivanka Trump was aged 13-16.

Funny, Donald was 35 miles away at his Bedminster NJ home, in an unannounced weekend of travel from the WH, when Jeffrey left this world.

What would a father do for a daughter that he's in love with?

good, she gets to sit her ass in jail until her trial which is 7/21.

"The combination of the seriousness of the crimes, the potential length of the sentence, the strength of the government's case at this stage, the defendant's foreign connections and the defendant's substantial financial resources all create both the motive and the opportunity to flee," U.S. District Judge Alison Nathan said.

The risks of releasing Maxwell on bail, therefore, Nathan concluded, "are simply too great."

Can you please explain why you think it is significant that Trump was 35 miles away? You keep bringing it up so you must consider it important.

Actually I heard it was spontaneous combustion. Remember those stories?
they still happen it's just not news, news.

i have a theory about this..heavy drinkers and alcoholics literally change the chemistry of their blood and it becomes high in ammonia..what is ammonia required for? an explosion/fire.

as a medical courier, i had to pick up labs from the mental facility..those with alcoholism/liver damage had to wait to be drawn until i arrived which then had to be packed on dry ice and STAT to hospital lab..talking to the nurse, it was because of blood volatility ammonia content..it could explode in my bag.

I suspect this trump to be supported by Russian money and laundering of same. Groomed since the early 90s and is currently Putin’s #1 asset.
I also suspect that several murders and poisonings in Europe a few years ago were intended to remind trump that Putin can reach out and “touch” anyone anywhere anytime.

How many folks do you think are involved in this?

Was speaking to someone the other day and they were of the opinion (conspiracy-based) that ALL singers, actors, celebrites etc. had to become a paedo as an initiation to gain fame and status.

I mean I've heard all that before years ago but still find it hard to believe that EVERYONE is in on it, he was so adamant that it was FACT.

Yeah once people get to believe that kind of thing, it is easy to get them to believe pretty much anything about anyone.

I think anyone corruptible that comes in contact with people like Epstein or Butina are highly likely to have been blackmailed.

But no I do believe that most people will not rape a young child and don't fall into the trap of believing in conspiracy theories without any actual proof confirming them.
