thanks smellytreez. i really appreciate your input as it solidifies my thoughts and findings over the weekend. yesterday and today have been successful in the sense of getting the temps to stay at 78 and 79 degrees constantly. i watered all three (just distilled) yesterday and thought there was enough growth to snap some pictures :D

Those beans are sitting in my dresser. Since a lot is changing from the first grow to this one, I wanted to be sure I wasn't going to be wasting the TD and BB seeds. I just need to buy micro nutes for flower, a good supply of ona and some other things for this first round before I buy more soil and air pots for the other strains. I won't be perpetual but I will have those strains in veg before this first round is harvested. Thanks for checking in!

well when I bought the hood I didnt think anything about hangers or anything like that so when it arrived and I wanted to hang it, I was left with less options that I genuinely believed I had. its fixed to the top of the tent.. but i feel like this is 'playing it safe' as I just read Benzi's light fell on one of his blueberry plants this week. I did raise the pots up by placing them on upside-down pots and they were about 20 inches away then but now the pots are back on the bottom of the tent and the tallest leaves are 33 inches away from the lens now. Is that too far? they've been in soil for 3 weeks.. looking a little small compared to a few other grows Im watching. thanks for stopping by

Yeah dude, I read about benzi too. Scary shit, that's why I ditched my yo yo hangers and went with some chain. I would guess your light might be a bit far away....but what do I know, I haven't gotten that far yet!!

Yea that is too far for your light. My 400 is at 14 inches atm. When I switch it down to 250 I lower it about 3 inches. I think if you have your light fixed you should move the plants. I was thinking about this setup because ventilation would be more efficient but then realized I could either move 8 plants or one light... I chose to move the light.

haha we will see. I was getting massive stretch in sour kush and not-as-bad-but-still-a-lot of stretch in Yum for the last week but I read somewhere that the cooler the temps, the more likely they are to stretch at night. since then the temps have been consistently higher, around 77-83, and the freshest growth looks healthy and the node spacing is a lot smaller.

I always say 'but I read somewhere' lol I just hope im reading the right shit.

damn I didnt even think about the ducting. hmm... putting the girls back on the old 3gal pots would only raise them a foot. brainstorming... and smoking

thank you for your input, blimey bongsmilie:blsmoke:

I know what you mean. Sometimes I remember reading something, but then don't remember if it was off here and somebody was just being sarcastic lol. The high light will probably affect stretch more. Personally I always thought high temps affected stretch not low temps but I have no basis for this.
No problem.

I might build a little stand with pegs in the legs so I can raise and lower a shelf in increments of 2 or 3 inches. it'd stand about 2 feet fall with the ability to lower it a total of a foot.

I've been thinking about something like that too, because I have two generations under one light it obviously can't be at the correct height for both generations. I had an idea today to create a hanging shelf raised and lowered by rope or chain similar to how I raise and lower my light. Then I could just put the pots on the shelf.

thanks for checking it out merchant! I have a 250 hps to switch out. I put it in a couple days ago to make sure it works...damn that thing is bright. I cant wait to make the switch.

im still thinking of an easy way to lift the pots together. Im really weary to just set them on top of pots. but I feel like they aren't growing. until i come on here and look at pics from a couple days ago. I originally planned to switch to flower the first week of december but they look a little behind... so its looking more like the 2nd week. 3-3.5 weeks till the fun begins! here are some pics from today. they will probably be fed here in the next couple of days.

just snapped a pic of a strain we have around in my tight group of friends. I took pictures of a few other strains but only took the time to edit this one. This is some type of citrus-y strain. not too much taste but a nice strong high. other buds we have right now are a good strong diesel, mr nice guy (my favorite), chiesel, and a cheese x pineapple strain that smells straight fire. I found a seed of it, however I found it in the pan in oil as I was cooking 12 g's of it for edibles lol dammit. Ill probably edit that cheese x pineapple pic to show because its really some killer bud. nice fat dense nugs too. the piece shown is my buddies everest mini sherpa. packs a huge punch! excuse the filth. I havent cleaned it yet today.
