Thats insane 16 weeks! To me it looked like that Casey jones wanted to grow 10 feet tall before she was ready to bud up. Maybe it was craving the outdoors?

Hey jerry, how's tricks, all good n green I hope mate. I was just reading how ur Purple Chiesel's clones did'nt carry the trait and was more with the cold. The one I have thats more Sativa, that one's colours are deff. nothing to do with cold. DSC01404.JPGDSC01436.JPG I brought her down yest, at 9.5 weeks! The green Pheno I grew developes Pink-Purp hues after week 8.
Check full juornal with Pic's start-2-finnish by clicking my link. Its a pitty yours wasnt a great smoke, I think the Purple will taste nice, but the green one is Fire man!

Well it has been 7 days of flowering for the Tahoe and Sour's, and I've already confirmed 1 male sour and 1 female sour. Coincidentally, the male Sour OG was the first clone to root. I'm thinking about making some Sour seeds using this male...though I've never tried my hand at breeding before.

I figured this first male would be a good candidate because it showed sex very quickly and it's clone took root almost immediately. Most of the Sour and Tahoe clones are barely on the verge of rooting after a week, while this Sour male has roots exploding all over the inside of the cup! Plus it stinks like funky sour diesel goodness...

Anyway, I can keep the male in my clone area, which is in another room. I thought I could do something like this guy----> https://www.rollitup.org/harvesting-curing/80081-harvesting-pollen.html

Looks simple enough. Thoughts? Suggestions?

SICC I read your basic breeding method using a paper bag, but I don't really want to wait until they open to contain them in a bag. I want as little pollen floating around as possible, even though it is in another room...

Well you will have to wait until at least one opens up so you can tell how they look before they pop. But once they start hang, you can cut them off and put em into a container to dry

If you have it in another room there really isnt much to worry about, unless you totally forget its in there and he bust's a nut like crazy. As long as you watch him closely everyday, and wait for the balls to drop, you should be good.

Thanks for the input gents. I realize after a little more research into the matter it is much less daunting than I had it pegged to be. Should be a fun little experiment, and I'll get a fresh batch of Sour OG seeds.

I'll get some fresh pics up in the next 24 hours or so :leaf:

I'm usually pretty good about keeping everyone watered, but I've been pretty lax with the Casey in particular because it just irritates me and takes up a ton of space. I actually removed it from the tent this morning...it's been well over 12 weeks now and it looks about the same as it did a month ago. I checked out some trichs today and they were mostly cloudy with an amber here or there, but the pistils are still 90% white. I think I'm over the entire plant though and will just hang on to the other seeds until I can plant some outdoors. Probably going to harvest it soon and make some butter with it...I'll save a little bud to dry and cure normal that I can vaporize down the line, but I'm just over it.

I would love to try a 9 week Casey Jones though, and maybe one day I will...

I'm going to clone my Sour and Tahoe OGs...:leaf:
Yeah, I didn't mean to sound critical (especially being new here). I'm sure you're dialed in nicely, everything looks great. I don't know why, but Casey Jones just consumes a vast amount of water. It consistently dries out a day faster than everything else I run, in 5gal bags I have to water every other day during peak flowering.

I'd be sure to save some bud too, you may have a real nice soaring high type of smoke there.

Finally found a decent Sour Diesel clone myself last month, just cloned her as well:weed:

Good luck to ya

No worries. I got just under 2 oz from the Casey...probably use one in butter and keep the other. It smells pretty nice, I just wouldn't want to smoke a bowl of it. It's been pretty good vaped and in a joint though.

So I officially have 2 male Sours and 2 male Tahoes...one of the male Sours is my triploid mutant, which is a very nice plant that branches three times per node. Any thoughts on breeding with him? Obviously the trait is likely to be passed down to the next generation, but I kinda like it. I was really hoping it was a girl.

Either way I have 2 confirmed females of each OG.

Hey man, great thread! I really enjoyed reading it all :D I also have some of the same strains- OGK, vanilla kush, PC- good stuff. I also really want to try JTR, and some of those cali connection seeds!

It's really easy to appreciate such a well put together organic garden! Nice job man

Here are pics from a couple days ago. Just now getting them up.

I harvested the Afghan Kush and Reserva Privada OG Kush last night. The Afghan is right on 60 days, while the OG is at 55. Both took considerably longer to flower from seed, but that is pretty common I've found. I usually start counting "flowering" as the day I switch to 12/12, but plants grown from seed should probably be counted from the first sign of preflowers.

First up, Afghan Kush.

Here it is with some of those fan leaves removed. I only take leaves that can be removed with a gentle tug.

Next, OG Kush. This one didn't yield quite what I got the first run, but I'm more than satisfied with this girl. Very easy to grow when you find a stable seed. She can take plenty of nutes. And smells quite sour.

Next, my sprawling Critical Jack. This one could easily yield in the 3-4oz range.

Here is the smaller but 10 days farther into flower Critical Jack. Failed to get a good pic of this girl...sorry.

Here is my Vanilla Kush. Should get some nice buds from this plant.

Next, Jack the Ripper. I've been having a bit of trouble with this girl, and I need your sage opinions. Here she is just before getting watered.

The trouble I'm having is with a couple tops. It looks as though it has been burned by heat/light, but this is not possible because 1) it's winter so it stays below 80 in there and 2) the tops are still about 20" from the light...notice the taller branch on the right is totally fine.

The only thing I can deduce is that she may have been pollinated by some awry pollen. I know the pistils are supposed to turn brown and die shortly after being pollinated, but having not yet done this myself I'm not sure if this is what they look like.

The problem with that theory is my males aren't quite producing pollen yet. I inspected all the plants in flower for bananas and didn't find any, so I don't think it's a hermie. A couple branches directly below the main one appear to be in the beginning stage of the same issue, so maybe pollen could have fallen down upon them as well. I just don't know where it could have come from if indeed that is what it is.

Anyway, here are the younger plants. All need to be transplanted soon...probably do that today.

Amnesia Lemon

Afghan Kush

Tahoe OG #2...a little thirsty. Getting the transplant shortly.

Tahoe OG #3

Sour OG #3
