Jock Horror - First Med Grow

Hello Everyone,
I am a newly registered medical marijuana patient and this is my first grow. Being new to this, I can really use all the advice I can get. I started about a week ago and I'm vegging my feminized jock at 24/0 with four 26w 6500k CFLs. I am growing in a 2 gallon pot with FFOF soil and gravel for drainage. My grow cab was built using the instructions from another forum on here https://www.rollitup.org/indoor-growing/311817-ditty-makes-57-grow-box.html.

It seems to be coming up really slow but I'm afraid to add nutrients at this stage. Gotta stay patient.

Yeah...I'm hoping to purchase a 400w HPS before flower but I missed out on my first opportunity. Saw an ad for a complete lumalights 400w hps selling for 85 and didn't try calling the guy until the day after...he'd already sold it. Keeping my eye out for the next opportunity though.

Seems to be doing good so far. Still a little slower than I had hoped...

How early can a plant be topped? I really need to keep this below 3 feet as my grow cab is only 36inches tall. I'll definitely be purchasing some new equipment for my next grow.

On a side note...some of those white chunks (not sure what the technical name for them is) in my soil have a slight green look to them...is that normal?

Nice looking plants man im jealous coz my lil seedlings are going thru problems but after seeing your plants u inspired me to keep at it and hope they recover.....keep up the good work!

Thanks for the reply man. Definitely give your little seeds another chance...you'd be surprised at what they can survive. I had a little scare really early on when I tried transplanting too early and my plant looked dead for about two and a half days but its made a good comeback and I'm glad I gave it a chance. I'm sure you can turn yours around too!

First, here's some pictures...


Finally some upward growth!!

I'm pretty sure my twice daily waterings with a SUPER low nute mix was causing the leaves to curl a bit. I'm cutting back on water (once a day) and no more nutes 'til I see a turnaround in my plant. Still looking for some advice as to whether or not it's too early to top...any tips?

Today's Picture Update:



It's still pretty short. According to the dates on my camera I first took a picture of the cracked seed on July 10th so it's a little more than two weeks along now. Hope it keeps going!

Nothing huge yet...just some new growth.



Also...in the process of possibly getting a 400w HPS : )

It's been a couple days since my last update and there hasn't been a huge amount of growth. My plant look healthy and I started vegging around the 14th or 15th of July. I'm wondering why I haven't seen much upward growth yet, especially when I look through other journals and see their plants looking so much taller. I'm fine with my plant staying short (due to the height of my grow cab) but I'm wondering if theres something wrong. Hopefully there'll be some rapid upward growth soon. I'm also thinking about taking a clone...any advice on whether or not it's too early? I've been vegging for just about three weeks now.

Heres some new pictures of my growing JH and my newly sprouted freebie Motavation (by Magus). I'm still surprised at how low it seems but I'm going to start flowering in a couple of weeks.


I was also recently introduced to a cool new app for my phone which filters pictures to make them look like polaroids.

Been awhile since my last post so I'm going to let the pictures do the talking.

The plant sticking out of the top of glass bottle is my first attempt at cloning.
