Hey everyone,
This is my 2nd grow journal on this site. I recently teamed up with another CO medical patient and will be doing 6 Papaya ladies in a SOG type grow. Last time I did 3 plants and vegged for 5 weeks or so and they filled the space. The plan this time is veg 1 to 2 weeks and then flower all 6 of them. My setup is as follows:

Lumatek 400w ballast
w/MH for veg
& Hortilux eye hps bulb for flower

6" HO can fan and can 33 carbon filter for exhaust/ light cooling and 2 inline duct booster fans at the bottom of the space for active intake

Cooltube reflector.

Clones were rooted by a friend in a bubbleponic cloner and transfered to party cups for veg. They will be transfered to larger square containers just before flower is induced.

I will be using FFOF soil and their line of nutes including the soluables.

These pics were taken the day of transfer (3 days ago). They are over the shock and starting to show some growth now. Last night i noticed some spider mite damage, so I hit them with a organic miticide meant for seedlings/clones. I also manually removed as many as i could from under the leave. To further combat this I have been spraying them with water a few times a day to keep the humidity up. i had this problem at the beginning of my last grow and this treatment seemed to do the trick. Below are some pics of the clones as well as the setup. Feel free to comment about anything and CONSTRUCTIVE criticism is always welcome.
Cheers
JP

Hey JP - I'm on for the ride this round too. I have some ISS that's been curing for 8 months now and it still tastes great.

Your setup looks nice and clean. The only advice I have is to consider steel elbows on your ducting. It cuts down on wind resistance which improves airflow and reduces noise. If you don't have a problem with either of those then no need to change a thing...

Best of luck on your grow!

Glad to have you along Med! I actually have elbows for thew ducting but they dont really fit haha my space is really small (only 2'x2.5'). The fan filter combo fills up the ceiling space because I went overbored on the ventilation setup. when I move out this summer Im probably stepping it up to a bigger space so I figured id make the investment now and be done with it. As far as noise I dont really care cause I live alone and its not in my bedroom, and the space is only 40 ft^3 so that fan can recirculate the air in less than a minute even at half speed with a lot of backpressure. It will definately be streamlined when I step it up a bit :bigjoint:

hey everyone,
sorry I havent updated in a while but there hasnt been much to update haha. Girls are vegging nicely now. They took a while to get acustomed to soil after taken out of bubble ponic cloner. I think I am going to put them in flower in 3 or 4 days..what do you guys think? I have never done a short veg cycle so Im not sure how much they'll stretch.. Other than that all is well.
Cheers,

actually i am under the hps right now cause my mh stopped burning, and I havent had time to go to the hydro store for a new one...thank god its under warrenty though, any way I want to start flower real soon here...I want to fill up the room as much as possible though, I was thinkin about flipping them in 3 days, probably on thursday or Friday..Ive never grown SoG before so I'm wondering what kind of yield I'll get per plant, they are about 8" tall on average right now..what do you guys think?? I figure I can always lollipop them if they start to take over the space
Thanks,

Quick up date.
Took 2 pics today before I left. My girl is watching them for the next few days. Shes been watching me do this for some time now so shouldnt be a problem...lets hope..they are definitely starting to stretch though. Gave them 1/2 dose of grow big, big bloom, tiger bloom, open sesame, and a tiny touch of epsom salt and lime to sweeten up the soil. Was trying to cover everything that might go wrong while im gone haha. hope its not too much for the girls...heres the 2 pics for you guys.
Cheers,

So today marks the first day of week 3 of flower. The girls are opening up nicely. I pruned off a lot of under growth the day before yesterday. I gave them their first full strength nute dose today as well. The genetics are not the most stable in the world but that happens. Some are much more sativa dominant and others indica dominant. All in all, they are progressing nicely. Enjoy the pics!

I'm running my purple Qrazy Train that I found last run, my own strain called Cherry Claw, 1 SourSAGE, 1 Pineapple Express and a pair of Hashberry clones left over from my last run in a SOG setup. I'm also trying out that SunPulse splitter, lets me run 2 600 bulbs off a single 1000 watt ballast.

Running in SuperSoil again, but in 7 inch pots to see if it will work with half sized plants in half size containers. Of course, I overestimated the stretch again. I could've squeezed another 1 - 2 feet out of them, but oh well.

I got some Mekong High and Orange Bud on the back burner and a pack of Pitbull's that I probably shouldn't have popped, I'm out of space....

Nice max! sounds like you have a lot of good strains goin. How to you like the splitter? does it drop the wattage to 500 a bulb? Im basically doin half size plants with double the number as well. Its always a crap shoot on their stretch but o well. At least you'll have some well vegged pitbull's ready to flower once you finish up this round

Hey guys, I havent been keeping up on this journal at all, but just snapped a few pics. About 2 weeks left in flower. 2 of the girls look done, but i know they arent. All their hairs are brown and trichs are cloudy. Anyone have this happen before? Its strange, the other 4 seem to be right where they should be, but 2 are swollen and turning pretty quick. What should i do? hold off and have some that are couch lock??
Thanks guys
Enjoy.
