I just added a 4' 4 bulb flourescent t5 fixture with blue light during directly over the canopy next to my 432w htg supply led at almost 2 weeks in flowering. It is now much whiter on the flourescent side of the 4'x4' grow area and redder on the other side under the led. Although I still see the spectrums mending together. Do you think this is a good Idea? using the blue light bulbs? Feed back pls. THanks.

would love to hear others advice too. For what it's worth, I didn't think the t5 were doing much inside the grow tent at the distance they had to be in my set up. They added heat but didn't seem to help growth (not flowering which my plants haven't entered) . I purchased plasma.lights to fill in the spectrum for my led and after a severe learning curve, all seems to be well at about 28 inches above canopy. But as for adding blue light I think it is a good idea but I would add two blue and two red and try to get them close to the sides of the plants as a boost for the middle. I just don't see how they would help more than one plant each per bulb unless they could be suspended sideways. I think your led would do fine for the tops. Just my limited eperience learning to grow in containers. Happy grow.

Blue is primarily used for veg, however, some blue is desirable in flower, especially if height is limited

You can flower under 5000K, but adding red usually produces more trics and bigger buds

If you had 2 @ 2 bub fixtures you could run them on opposite sides of your main light, creating a more balanced spectral blend over the entire canopy

Good feedback. It comfirms the thoughts I already had. But I just don't have any of the red spectrum bulbs on hand. I should order a pack. ;)

:blsmoke:Today is day 27 of 12/12. I took out the flourescent and repositioned my 432w led about 16"above the canopy. I think I will be flowering another 43 days. Will try to journal it a bit. Keep in mind these were the extra ten least desirable plants my friend gave to me and my first time with led lights. And haven't grown since 2005. But I'm learning back knowledge quickly. I'm going to add a 300w greatlux led with epistar led's. I researched this Chinese made 168$ unit including shipping and I think it's not as bad as people make it out to be. Alot of company's claiming us made have Chinese parts and epistar Chinese led's. Hopefully this journal will prove it otherwise. Here's two pictures.

Looking good! I just started 12 / 12 and bought a Chinese LED to add watts and RED. I paid a lot less than what I purchased a less powerful led panel from a u.s. supplier previously - and that one is probably a Chinese panel anyway. I think to complicate all the claims out there, though some panels are very clearly very poor quality, it also boils down to the individual factors in any particular grow. The strain, the environment, temps and height, the medium, the learning curve.... So we read others experiences, we study, but in the end we use what works best for us. We buy what we can afford. We do the best we can. This is enough. Happy growing! :)
