I actually spoke with our resident vet this morning about my "thing" re male dogs lifting vs squatting . She has a handsome male poodle pup she's taking to work with her in the morning to get neutered .

She pretty much said there's no real science behind early neutering and squatting , though she's seen the correlation between the two .

Yeah science changes all the time. Like even when I was first looking at getting him neutered they're like yep 6 months. 8 weeks if you have to . But now they're starting to say yeah more like a year and a half 2 years. I basically matters who you listen to and what science they use I think. He'll basically be like 11 months, almost a year. So I'm pretty comfortable with that. And he is ready. So and so another thing you talk to the owners and they say neutering did calm them down. But the science says it doesn't. So there is a pretty good chance he will escape. And I feel real bad if he raped and impregnated somebody else's dog lol. So he's going to get the chop at least for that reason. But yeah I don't know am I responsible or am I a monster LOL.

we had 2 growing up, i never liked them and they didnt like me,

in high school i worked for a vet before and after school cleaning kennels.

the only dog that i ever got bit by was from one of these.

a cat got me once too.

Just basically being generally mouthy and nippy. And just recently, like last week, started growling and trying to bite us when we go for his collar to leash or unleash him. Not sure if it's related to the nail clipper incident. My mom came into town for 10 days on Saturday. Tuesday he bit her pretty good on the foot in the middle of the night as she was going to the bathroom. Not sure if he got startled or if he was resource guarding his space. He's always had a resource guarding issue with his chews. Tossing a treat his way usually deescalates the situation but others in the household are not consistent enough with it. My mom has done it since with no incidents. But he's definitely got some quarks.
