I had the garage door open about a foot for some air flow last weekend & didn't notice Momma's beagle in there (he usually is on squirrel watch in the back yard). I started to get concerned when I realized about a half hour later I hadn't seen him & then I realized the door thing.
Straight to full blown panic as it was 105 Deg F out - jumped into the car with his clicker & started doing laps around the neighborhood hollering & clicking. After about 20 minutes he's running at the car with his tongue hanging out. Had he been hit or snatched I don't think I'd forgive myself.

I left the gate open once and Roxy took off. She always goes the same direction where she is used to be taken on her walk. The lady that brought her home once was saying she would have been happy to keep her because she just loves people.

What's your plan if nobody comes for him ? He looks like a sweetie , I imagine he'd be pretty easy to re-home . At least he wandered off to someone who cares what will happen to him , that's a plus.
His toenails were freshly cut. My guess is they went away for the 4th and will return soon. I just don't 'feel' he's abandoned and he can't have gone far. I'm guessing his people are within a block from me. So I haven't given it too much thought. Plus my other neighbors, the crazy ones that hate my trees lol, have a young female pit who is spayed and even though they dislike me they'd take him in. We agree about dogs and Ravens, kinda, they just hate trees. It's the Mojave so .... we are a bit odd.

BB should have jumped on this moneymaker a while ago. Almost looks like a .gov site doesn't it?
Yeah there's a lot of phony 'service' dog registration companies. They prey on the disabled, very sad. Essentially you need to look to your State, County and local Municipality for their rules, regulations and related guidelines.
