I stopped feeding my dogs Science Diet. Its OK as far as dog food goes but I found it made my two shit their brains out. I switched to a mixture of Royal Canin and Purina Pro and they go about half as much as they did. I havent check ingredients, but I believe it has more protein and less fillers.

I believe the formula for SD has changed because I didnt have issues with it in the past.

Maybe give the Purina Pro Plan puppy food a try. Both breeders I bought my dogs from swear by it and it should be readily available at most stores.

I'm so glad you're going to stick with him.
Good luck
I feed Lenny, my 1yr old Ridgeback pup, purina pro plan large breed puppy food. The bag has a picture of a ridgeback pup on it lol. Their large breed food has a picture of a ridgeback too. It’s good shit.
I would buy him anything no expense spared btw.

One of the pro plans just got recalled for excess vitamin D or something I was reading. Honestly tried maybe six or eight puppy Kibbles before I found one he actually would eat. Taste of the wild High Prairie roasted bison.
I was all about taste of the wild for a long time bro.
And then you start hearing shit about dogs actually needing grain. So i ditched it. But my French Mastiffs lived off it their whole life. Rex. He lived to be 10.5 yrs old, oldest out of the litter my Ex bread.
10.5 yrs for a Bordeaux is old

I had my orientation for puppy class the other night. Humans only. Seemed promising. It's an in between class for 4-6 months old. So it's a small class. Just me and 3 others. Probably a good thing. It sounds like he already knows several things that we'll be going over. But redundancy has its uses. They use clicker training. But said we can use a word if we don't like the clicker. I have been practicing it with him for the last couple days. Seems effective. Seems cumbersome to have something in my hand all the time though. Time will tell.
