AHHHH! Congrats!! She looks like a good woman. Don't listen to these guys dogging you out. I've been married a LOOONGG time and I've got one of the good ones. If you're lucky enough to marry your best friend, then life's good. Remember: Choose wisely, treat kindly.

*oh and wait a few years before kids. have FUN together.

Ha! Remember, this is the woman talking here. You actually have NO say in the matter, just smile and say everything she suggests is a great idea. You'll have virtually no say and that's the way god intended it. You're just along for the ride when it comes to the wedding...

I know of almost no couples that get to spend more than a year baby-free. I've come to believe there are almost NO planned babies, just kind parents that lie to their unplanned children ;)

i didnt want a big wedding, i think when i was a kid i envisioned a big beautiful italian wedding, with all the bells and whistles, when i met hubby, i just wanted to be his/married

so we eloped, whole thing cost us a whopping 80$ , the city hall was gorgeous, the day the was gorgeous, my dress was like a cute little lace short white dress
and viola!
we ate out at a nice restaurant and we were married
that being said we kinda did a honeymoon/marriage, we went on a trip did alot of fun stuff for about 4 weeks, and got married but with both families so far away it just worked out better

as for the baby comment, i was mostly joking , mine was not planned obviously , and happened very quickly, oh well :p we can still have fun

That's awesome, but my point is this happened because you wanted it. If you wanted different, it would have been ;) Babies are super fun if you have a good partner, you're gonna love it...

P.S. Any pics of you in that dress???

well no we both discussed what would be the best practical option to get married, being from different countries and a lack of having all family members make it we decided to elope

Thanks hooka :) she's pretty amazing, did the whole engagement dinner where her family met mine last night. It was exhausting, but everyone's excited so that's good. Her dad seemed super happy :D.

The first child isn't usually planned from what I know, and neither sometimes is the last. But I think a lot of middle children definitely have been planned.

We're planning on before I'm 30, so within 4 years on kids, but we want a house first. We're good unless be fails...lol. Could happen I guess.

We're looking into doing a ranch wedding and we have about 60 immediate family plus 10-20 of our closest friends. Trying to find somewhere around here under $10k but this one place she seems to be super partial to is like $17-22k so we will see. I did my part of the wedding, I asked. At this point whatever she wants goes, I'll object if I don't like anything but her mom and her brothers gf are on it already so I'm glad to stay out of the mess. We have pretty similar tastes anyway/I trust her judgment.

Well that should be fun. When/where are you moving? I seemed to have missed some things I may remember something about Alaska? Or out of Canada anyway right?

It's funny when you get to making a list of people you have to invite to your wedding and you want the least amount of people possible, because you get through mom + 1 ,brother +1 , sister +1 +baby, grandma, aunts + uncles + their kids, and 4 of my bests friends were already at 20 just on my side(if I don't invite my dads side of the family + another 8-12 under that circumstance). Now double that for hers and that's 40-50 with only 4 of our closest friends each. It's insane.

Ya we have family that would be pissed, plus I think she's secretly into the whole thing. We travel a lot so it's going to be interesting to pick a honeymoon spot. I wanna do bora bora but more importantly just somewhere everything is included so I don't have to do shit the whole time.

That makes sense. We're debating on when to do it for a similar reason. One of my aunts is in uk the other is in Japan or Mexico I forgot, lol. My mom and her parents are the only ones in state lol, this whole things is going to be a ton of fun to organize lol. Her brother also is pro baseball so is only available 2 times a year. .

Yes, sage advice: Do the wedding you BOTH want. Usually, us women types love to plan etc. It's one of those things most women dreama about since girlhood blah blah blah. BUT I did go over budget on ours and wish I hadn't. I listened to my parents and invited THEIR friends too, :=( We had to pay for our own so that was SO contrary to my personality, even back then, But it's about the vows, not all the flowers and shit. Someone's always gonna be miffed Don't do what I did and cave.
Do like my cousin did: he parachuted in… literally. otherwise it would've been a boring typical wedding.

I'm glad the chute opened - an adult man @ terminal velocity would make a mess outta the cake.

To a wonderful woman I can tell you from experience that there is nothing any better.......but many of my friends can only speak of negatives when talking about their failed marriages and constantly ask me how we've been able to stay happily married for all these years. I usually tell them I have no fucking clue and it's certainly not from me not doing some stupid shit...cause I've done my fair share. The only thing that hasn't gotten in the way was other people ...till death do us part....Oh yeah keep your cock out of everyone other than your wife you should be fine :-) :-)

That's pretty rediculous and awesome. Yeah, we're only doing immediate family, no family friends lol. I'm avoiding inviting my dad and that side if my brother and sister can keep it somewhat quiet.

Thanks for the positive experience :) always good to hear when people are happy with their marriages. Haha, not a problem there though, No way I'd ever want anything else.
