It has mange and that crap can be passed to your pets from the lice on it. I'm amazed it's as fat as it is as they usually get really skinny by that stage. It needs to be captured and treated or euthanized to stop it's suffering.
Because of idiots feeding them it will spread through contact with the others gathering around the food. It's really affecting the black bear population in VA and it's so sad to see.

I don't see any scabs.......maybe it's just middle-aged and suffers from raccoon pattern baldness :eyesmoke:
