i use rain water chlorine in drinking water evaporates away but leaves cloramines that kill all microbia that you tryin to build wit addatives molassess lots more build up to get destroyed thats what its there for -dah
i was talkin it up at my other site imentioned what i am runnin bubba larry and black water
i mentioned they are in week 6.4 to finish weeks 8 and 8 to 9
they laughed said expect longer one said breeder i forgot name counts after stretch ,another said he counts when he see buds
both said he does not count from when you switch to 12/12 like everybody else
whatever said add at least 2 to 3 weeks
oh name used was swerve

i start counting when i see the first small "cluster" or pistils on one of the tops. if the plant is not sexed its's usually when i see pidtild but if it is mature it takes like 10 days give or take a few depending on strain.

thanks for all input mayby im jumpin the gun on my count
i focuss more on the end - i find it more important to know when a plant is finished then when to start
i mostly veg past maturity till week 6 and beyound so i wind up counting from switch
i run into problems wit my light height but dont mind super croping i just broke the larry down like a shot gun was 2 inches off and heat was up to high 80's low 90's at that height wit everthing runin
