I know that fan leaves can have from seven to 9 leaves in the traditonal pattern
However my plants have from 11-13 leaves is this normal or a mutation
the plants look great and growing fine.

normal. i noticed that some of my leaves are coming in even numbers. i just assumed since the plants are a nice shade of green, nothing can be seriously wrong. the more leaves, the more photosynthesis, i guess. i'm no scientist. but i would think if you're past 11 leaves, that indicates a good thing.

agreed I researched this when a friend of mine tried to tell me I need to "prune", (cut off) some of my fan leaves. Well needless to say he was an idiot. now my babies are entering their sixth week and I got a second 400 watt HPS so it looks like all the leaves are absorbing the lights, they look awesome now. good luck~
