Have the Liberals released a detailed plan of how they are proposing to do this?
They are pandering otherwise.
If this was an issue they cared about, it would be getting debated in Parliament right now.
When Layton was around, the NDP used similar rhetoric. Yet nothing materialized from that (and under the "angry beard", the attitude towards sweet Jane has flipped).

Until I see details and analyses with genuine depth, I wouldn't trust a bit of what they are saying re: legalization.
For now, I'm rooting for the BC referendum campaign...

http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/2013/07/25/justin-trudeau-marijuana-legalization_n_3655736.html

Justin Trudeau clarified his stance on marijuana Thursday, saying legalizing the drug is a "very responsible thing to look at and to do."
In the past, Trudeau has expressed support for decriminalization, but held back from supporting legalization. In his comments to the crowd at Vancouver's English Bay, he said that isn't enough.
"Decriminalization just removes the criminal penalties that are applied to people for having consumed, or owning marijuana, and that tends to bog down the legal system, and keeps the gangs, basically and the criminal elements that are profiting from marijuana."
"Once we control it, tax and regulate it, we allow for development of a medical marijuana industry, that will actually be responsive to the needs of the many consumers of medical marijuana," he told the crowd.

Could he possibly worse than what we currently have with the Cons?
As heckler pointed out the angry beard of the NDP has taken a new direction and really
has not done anything in the time he has been leader.

I hope that JT would bring back Canadian ideals to set our country back on a friendlier path on the world stage. I hope he can
introduce a fresh outlook for the country that is more inline with Canadians and not old politicians and their friends.

Perhaps it is all just a pipe dream, but really it cannot be worse than the scandal ridden Harpco.

Better or worse in the realm of politics is kind of subjective. They all want to hold the gun of power...in that way they are very similar.

so lets create a new canadian party for the people, remove the corporations and politicians, the banks, the bullshit and start a change for the better in society.

redo most of the laws, most of the educational system, pretty much the entire workforce. removal of the stockmarkets and focus on actually making a better society as a whole.

do we need 13 provinces and territories? no
we need 1 country.

stop the oil bullshit, focus on green power and technological advancement and integration.

hydrogen powered engines, electric engines, removal of the current currency situation and put people into education and development

instead of focusing on getting yourself ahead focus on getting the whole ahead.

Well I have to agree that the banking and currency systems are deceptive and people should be unchained from them.

Although I think you are wasting your time looking for the "good government"....Check out this book sometime. MARKET FOR LIBERTY by Morris and Linda Tannehill.

The party system is a feeder system into an effort focused on "winning control" of government which is really just a vessel of aggression. Political parties are designed to control people, not liberate them.

Why not just learn about the non-aggression principle and teach people about that?

I like that you are interested in alternative energy. I'm working on a solar hot water heater design later today. Peace.

They used to call it, the Tao...

Tao #17 ~ Government
Ф

Good Government is not intrusive
the people are hardly aware of it
the next best is felt yet loved
then comes that which is known and feared
the worst government is hated

when a leader lacks trust
people lose confidence

words are like wind
a gentle breeze is better
less is more

Good work is that
which the people lay claim to
saying "See what we can do!"

as much as your thoughts ive seen so far are pretty motivated and for the better good they are just not realistic , sorry youre not going to go create a new canadian party and win over all and stand at the top of parliament with your superman cape on.
Be realistic man lol

Be realistic man
If that were possible, El Douche Harper would be doing it. He has a majority, his boot on the throat of the Senate, and an extra-private PMO. And now with his retro Tricky Dick imitations as of late--with new and improved "enemy lists"--he might as well strap on a Dr. Doom mask and go full out.
