WEEK 16

Screenshot_20210609-170748__01.jpg

Haven't updated in a long time.

They got transferred in my 2x2 tent. Light is HLG 100V2 3000K.

Meanwhile I have taken a clone off her about 1 month ago and let it grow straight in a glass of water. When roots formed, she got transplanted in a small pot. Then she got rootbound so I transplanted her in a slightly bigger pot. Then she got rootbound again and transplanted for the last time 1 week ago in this 2 or 3 gal pot, can't remember. She's looking fine even tho I surely stressed her during flower.

Mother is looking ok, could have kept going with the LST but branches got woody as hell. So I let her stay this way.

Flipped them 3 weeks ago to 12/12.

Sprinkled some manure pellets on both of them. Ratio is 3-3-3. Looks like they took it well.

WEEK 23

Been away for a while. In the meantime plants suffered nute burn + Mg excess which caused Cal lockout.

To make things worse, she began growing nanners. I kept plucking them off, thankfully there weren't that many and I'm already in late flower so maybe no seeds... We'll see.

Been giving plain pH'd water for the last 2 weeks. Next watering I'll resume giving nutes in half strenght.

She got fat and started smelling like skunk/hash.
At first I thought the calyx structure looked like foxtailing but upon closer inspection I deducted it's just the genetics ( or so I hope lol ).

WEEK 24

She keeps throwing calyxes on top of calyxes. Pretty clear it's foxtail but it must be the genes because the light is @ 20 inches and I never had foxtail before.

Not a bad thing, only that I'm getting confused when to harvest due to all these white pistils all over the place lol.

What do you think @insomnia65 ? 2 weeks ago they told me "2 weeks more"

Oh man that's a tough one......I'm glad the burdens on you lol. I would say at least three weeks but as you said it's foxtailing it's hard to tell. I'm assuming because it's an African strain it's going to be a long haul.

Lol fair enough. Thanks for the "african strain takes longer" curiosity, didn't know that! 3 weeks... Man, you brought me down to earth lol :bigjoint: I guess I should just stop counting

Malawi can take 14 weeks or more from flower! Those leaves don't look too skinny though not sure how much landrace is in the genetics. I would trust your judgement over mine, you are a very skilled grower when you think they're ready I will believe it!

On the site it says:

"The Afghan in this strain balances out the sativa in both the AK-47 and Thai making it quicker finishing and mould and pest resistant. Kaboom is also a very heavy producer."

Not sure about % of each strain but looks like 2/3 sativa 1/3 indica. But yet again, what they write is not always 100% true for various reasons. I guess only time will tell.

Red flags are "quicker finishing, heavy producer," and the words like thai and sativa. Now that I think about it even the name kaboom sounds like something that wants to Fox tail. It's going to be interesting to see how long it takes.
