this has been my obsession too, my 1st grow came in a 29 inches with a northern lights
2 gallon pot and not much cfl's
indicas are indeed a go way for a new grower with small space, worked for me anyways
i tried a pc grow with smaller pots, that did not go well, so there are limits

Well 3 feet including the height of the pot? or not?... either way, you can grow with a real small pot but you risk it getting root bound which will effect your final yield and possibly quality of the smoke... If possible, i'd try to use something that is atleast 6-10 inches tall... A gallon sized container would probably be the smallest i'd go w/ for a final pot...

Just make sure you enduce flowering (12/12) once they hit about 10-12 inches tall... that way, worst case scenario if it triples in size.. it will be 3 feet tall maybe a few inches less...

Good Luck to ya'! happy tokin'!

the usual recommendation for pot size is 1 gallon for every foot of height
so if you want to go up to 3 feet, i don't think you want less than 2 gallons
some seem to have the knack to get by with smaller pots, but for a first grow, keep it bigger

i agree with thedifferencex go with a 10 inch pot
and switch you light to 12/12 when it gets to about a foot
cause it grows alot during the flowering cycle
but thats just my opin.
