keeping temps down.

Byran apparently u didnt get that my outdoor climate is 90+f. Thank u all for your input. Will post some pics of my operation wen i return home on monday. The room is completely sealed. also got 2 16” wall fans oscillating on opposite sides for circulation.

Without mechanical cooling I head outside in the summer but winter here at minus 10-30c isn't an issue lol hope you get it sorted.

Dont wanna run all 4 @ 1000w. Right now i know thats madness. Contented with running them lower for the time. Once i complete a grow or 2 with some respective yeilds. Will upgrade my cooling. Obviously will be running on avg 600w in veg. Will 700-800w each get me sucessfully tru flowering?

Good day all. Just finished constructing my 1st grow room. And cautiously about to start my 1st grow. So yes i'm ad new as it gets. I have put together a 10x12x9h room. Sealed. With 2 400 cfm fans on intakes. 2 440cfm on my carnon filtered outtakes. A18000btu window ac unit. Ceiling to floor wraped in mylar. Now heres my concern. I have 4 1000w hid gull wing reflectors and with all my cooling power my temps are in d 90`s still at only 800w. Haven't put any plants in there yet. Dont wanna risk cooking them. Any ideas on how to drop those temps? Or can i complete 1 sucsessful grow before i order cool tube reflectors? Where i live the current outdoor temps are 32degrees Celsius plus.. So its darn hot...
I'm responding to this thread first although I did later on.

Why sealed room/s?

The root of your problem is non air cooled reflectors ------doesn't mean you can't keep a sealed room------you just pull air from outside the room through the light chain and out.

the other option is to install a large ac unit-----I think it was @Carolina Dream'n that suggested 6k btu per 1k flowering in a sealed room.

Is your room insulated?

A~~~

He's pulling in 90 degree air and without sealed lighting he'll be battling that as well as the heat of the lighting. The only way I see this happening is limiting the air coming into the room as well as venting the lights unless he has a massive cooling unit. Remember as well this is the winter there, it's gonna get hotter. Perhaps it would work doing doing something else and I just don't see the whole picture here. I've never dealt with these temps so out if my realm. I'm starting a heat loss/gain course in 3 weeks, I should know more after that re load and required cooling but on paper it will be large I think. And yes limiting lighting does change everything as well.

Yes, I have run 600's for every 3.5' and it was ok. Perhaps you could run T5's as well for veg and yes even a few complete runs till you get some money to throw at it, I really didn't have great luck with t5's but others have had some good yields.

Your lights heat load are almost equal to your AC output at those ambients if not less then your pulling in 800 cfm of 32 c air. My suggestion, seal that puppy up, add CO2. Think you may need to up the AC though as well if running all 4 lights, but with CO2 you can run higher. Impressive setup though for a newb!

Closed - air cooled light hoods! Draw from out and exhaust out. This will allow your AC to actually get you down to around the high 70's to 80F.......

Wing reflectors make for hot environs and Co2 use!

Thank u all for your knowledgeable assistance in this matter. Tommorow i return to my project. And back to d drawing board..lol. Think i will construct my own hoods. And take it from there. Stay safe everyone. Peace.
